The Taal volcano eruption left a lot of stranded travelers, myself included. I was scrambling to find a room, and this was the place. I had to borrow a locals phone to make a phone call to the hotel to make sure there would be someone there past midnight in case I’d be later. | The location was not far from the airport, so locals tried to charge me WAY more for a ride to this location. Anywhere in this city should cost you no more than 100 pesos.| But as soon as I entered, I was tired, stressed because I didn’t know when I’d be leaving, and they gave me some water as soon as I sat down. | The lobby was very unique. It was basically a bar and restaurant. The walls were lined with straw matting, and there were vintage 1940’s pinup memorabilia on display. | But what really got me was the people running the place and how hospitable they were. They showed me the room.| The room was simple. I stayed in the “Love” room (ironically, by myself!) It’s not a fancy froo froo hotel, but it was safe, clean, and I needed a place to crash for only about 5 hours. I had my own bathroom which had a shower head next to it.| They called a tricycle in the morning. So the security guy knocked on my door promptly at 5am. | I never got to see the place during daylight hours. But, I’m sure the pool is lovely. | The uniqueness and hospitality are definitely worth staying here. Thanks for being so nice to a weary and stressed...
Read moreStaff and owners were incredibly friendly, accommodating and the service was fantastic.|Rooms are newly renovated, stylish, decorated with various art from around the world and very clean. You honestly won't find better for this price, very good value for money.|Food from the restaurant was very good and decent priced.|Showers were warm and water pressure was good, which was a rarity on our travels around the Philippines.|It was just an overall incredible stay.|Owners and staff really care about their guests here.|They sometimes do pubquizzes in the bar/restaurant in the hotel, so if you are lucky to be there on one of those nights, you can test your knowledge. Unfortunately we had to leave on the same day the pub quiz took place :(|It's close to the airport. It's easy to catch tricycles from the road. And there is a motorcycle/car rental not even 50 meters up the road.||The only minor thing that I would suggest, is that the pool area/back of hotel should be only for guests staying overnight. You are still only allowed in to the pool if you are an overnight guest, however I feel it would be a bit more relaxing if bar/restaurant guests weren't in the area. First world problems I know, but it's a suggestion :)||Thanks for an incredibly relaxing stay, we hope we can one...
Read moreI stayed very comfortable for two weeks in Lala Panzi. It’s not a luxurious place but the rooms are clean, well equipped, nicely decorated. The airco works good. In the evening you won’t need it anyway. The van is enough to keep it cool in the room. There is warm water in the bathroom. So basically everything you need for a comfortable stay. The personal is very friendly and everybody makes you feel at home. They have a nice colorful garden with a good sized pool. |It is situated a bit outside the center of the city but the main street with all the restaurants is walkable (15min). You can also hop on one of the many Taxi Tricycle that drive around (20 to 50 pesos). You can also rent a motorbike and in front of the Hotel (50m away to your right) you can rent a bike at Niño & Glenn. Really nice trustworthy guys that have only new bikes. They just started their business. Highly recommendable. |All in all a great Hotel, nicely located, from where you can explore Puerto and...
