We recently stayed a week at the Kiwi Lodge in Port Barton. There are 3 lovely huts in a beautiful garden setting. The huts are simple but very comfortable. We slept great. This area of Port Barton is fairly quiet. There are no bars with karaoke nearby, which we were very glad about. The beach is a few minutes away and you can hear the waves on the beach in your hut. Jerry, the host, is a wonderful man. He was nearly always available for questions or to offer help. There is 24 hour electricity, wifi and hot and cold drinking water. While we were there we turned the fan off at night because it was chilly. The entire hut is screened so we had no trouble with bugs. And over the bed is a mosquito net just in case a few get in through the door. Definitely ask Jerry about island hopping tours, they offer great tours. We did two and they made sure that we didn't see the same thing twice. The area around Port Barton is a snorkeling paradise. The shower only had 'cold' water, but this isn't an issue when it's 30c (80f) outside. I thought it was nice to cool off a bit. The Kiwi Lodge is a fantastic home away from home in Port Barton. We stayed a week and it still wasn't...

Read moreStayed here for 7 days. Had a wonderful relaxing time. The town is so small you can easily walk around in minutes. You will be experiencing a laid back Philippino village that is currently undergoing a lot of changes to accommodate the tourist industry. Lots of new restaurants and accommodation being built. If you want to see it before it becomes like so many other tourist towns, do it now. I’m sure in even a year it’ll be quite different. Kiwi Lodge is only ten minute walk from where the van/bus terminal is located, and a five min walk to the beach. There’s no a/c but honestly the fan works just fine. Small cozy bungalows. Hot water showers. Free water refills and coffee/tea available all day. You can easily book island hopping tours through Brian, the owner, or his manager. Wonderful stay. If I come back I’ll...
