Easily the best dining experience we've had in our 5D4N stay at Port Barton!

We first visited this place (late in the afternoon) to just wait out the rain, but Fat Cat truly exceeded our expectations!

On our first time dining here, we had: Pizza Bianca: melt in your mouth goodness! The harmony of the cheeses with the delightfully burnt edges of each slice left me speechless. Drizzle a bit of their signature garlic oil and it'll easily send you to pizza heaven. Palawan Cashew Pesto: The basil and cashews in the pesto sauce wrapped the rigatoni well. The recipe is very home-y and unique to this place. I'm a big fan of pesto but out of all the pesto pasta and dip that I've tried, Fat Cat takes the cake!

On our last night at Port Barton, we decided to splurge a little, so we visited Fat Cat again - this time for dinner. The atmosphere still slaps, and I even think the place gets better in the evening. We ordered: Buffalo Chicken Wings: The chicken meat was perfectly cooked. Not tough, not too tender – just the perfect crispy done-ness. The ranch dip is a perfect match for the wings. 6-piece perfection! Pizza Gordita: The onions were the star of this dish! Sweet and very well caramelized, perfectly balancing out the saltiness of the bacon slices. Drizzled again their signature garlic oil and man, you need to pry that bottle away from me. It pairs well with everything! Bacon Carbonara Pasta: This is your authentic Italian Carbonara recipe – yolks, parmesan, a little bit of olive oil. No frills, all goodness. I drizzled a bit of that garlic oil again and it made it even better! Brownies: Perfect ending to our dinner. Not too sweet, not too fudgy. The perfect crust + the chewy core with a healthy dusting of table sugar!

Overall, Fat Cat deserves more foot traffic. It's a 2-min motorbike ride (5-8 min uphill walk) from the karinderia center in the heart of Port Barton, but it sure is worth the steps!

Love how warm and welcoming the staff here as well! They even said "Welcome po ulit!" ("Welcome back!") when they recognized us coming in. Lovely,...

Walking up to the joint you think you're going to be up for a yummy well cooked meal. The place specialises in Pizza and markets themselves as so. You order what you hope is going to be good, but the waitress fails to note any extra choices you want and tends to forget half the things you wanted. Not long after ordering , your pizza turns up. Toppings are scarce and you discover that the pizza hasn't spent enough time in the oven. You're graced with thin toppings and a crust that is so limp, that you're forced to roll the pizza in order not to lose the scant toppings onto your lap. Sure, the outer crust has scorch marks on it, but once you bite into it, you'll find it doughy and undercooked. So you manage to eat it all and then ask for the bill. They refuse to give you the bill and make you walk to the cashier and pay there. The prices are easily twice the price of their competitors and with half the service and quality. I'd recommend avoiding the place altogether and going elsewhere. Photos attached showing you the actual stiffness of the pizza. 😜

In response to the Owner's reply: The average cost of a pizza at Barton Bistro & Flow is half the price you offer. Flow serves just as limp a pizza as you do but with twice the toppings and Barton Bistro serves a much better pizza. I'm yet to review Napoli Pizzeria. Plus you have not countered my claim of very little toppings. When I stated to your other customers that I'd be reviewing your pizza and why, they all laughed in agreement. Take the criticism and improve your pizza or you will have a large decline in business. Also, take the time to train your staff in proper service, as a tip will not be forthcoming from any of...

Taste of food was okay but possibly contaminated as the pizza came with black gooey stuff merged into the middle with the dough + toppings (you can see it under the 2 quarter sliced mushrooms pieces if you zoom in the pic provided). We asked the staff what it was and he casually said that the black stuff was from their oven as it hasn't been cleaned yet. No sorry, no offer to remove, no nothing! Just pure yuck. Service was not okay even with the owner/manager (probably) looking on -while coughing terribly but still singing at the cash register and no mask. Used her hands to cover her mouth, though. But please at least spray some alcohol on your hands before handing out change, you sound very sick with all that phlegm. Or wash your hands at the sink that was practically beside you. Please do it, if not for your customers who obviously don't want to get sick while on vacation, do it for your own self development. After being provided with the hot sauce i requested, the staff actually asked me if i needed anything else. We were slack-jawed as we hadn't even been provided cutlery at this point. Also, they ignored my repeated request to wipe off sticky liquid on the table that was there before we sat down. Got side-eyed when i stood up to get a napkin from the bar to wipe it off myself. I do not recommend this place and will never be back. Currently experiencing tummy troubles, 100% regret going there.

Disclaimer: i wanted to put zero stars but need to give at least 1 to...

One word: overrated. Been there twice because my girlfriend made me. First time my Mrs. had the turkish eggs that tasted nice although it’s singular cause there was just one egg in the dish. I tried the falafel salad bowl. Interesting only visually. Taste wise rather dry like a fart, zero oil no salt or any seasoning. It had some wide carrot and cucumber peel in it which did nothing but taste boring. Some thickish dressing got laid across the dry little falafel balls. Absolutely forgettable. Second time we took the pizza margarita as a take out and it was nice. All in all a mixed culinary experience. Something about the service. There is one service dude who seems to hate his job. He wasn’t particularly friendly, forgot the cutlery, didn’t bring napkins, had to be asked twice about Glas with ice and water etc. One important thing: when two people order serve the food together because usually people tend to prefer enjoying a meal together and don’t wanna watch the other one eat whilst waiting for their dish. All basic things a pricey place like this one shouldn’t have issues with. Need to step up to the game!
