Barton Bistro — Restaurant in Roxas

Barton Bistro is our favourite spot in Port Barton (and one of our favourites in the whole of Palawan) to spend both our days and our evenings. The staff are all lovely; they're always so friendly and really go out of their way to make every visit memorable. Although too many names to mention, we would particularly like to mention Carmen, Angeline, Mary Joy and Cherish as they are always so hospitable. Oh and Tamy makes an excellent Flat White for when we have visited for breakfast! The food menu offers a lot of variety; we highly recommend the Shrimp Tacos, the Honey Sriracha Chicken Tenders and the Pizzas (which are all made fresh and are some of the best pizza's we've eaten in the Philippines). The menu has a US influence and having travelled the US quite a lot in the past, we were very impressed as the food here is far better than many of the US restaurants we've eaten at.

They offer a broad range of drinks; both local and premium imports. We're particularly fond of the Mango Shakes, Mango Daiquiris and Pina Coladas!

The sunset from here is stunning and well worth the visit on its own. It is beachfront, and has a mix of beanbags and tables. There is also a lovely upper deck (which looks out over the bay and has good wifi).

The music is at just the right level to be able to have a good conversation and they have always had live music on the evenings when we have visited.

I recommend that you avoid this place. Attended with 3 others, a table of four. The atmosphere was the only good thing. However.. there is no table numbers and after waiting an hour for food, they took our starters to the wrong table without us knowing. Then, one of our plates arrived which was an undercooked pizza with a doughy texture. 20 minutes later two of the other plates arrived, 2 pasta dishes that were cold. Then 10 minutes later the last main came which was fish that was clearly frozen, tough, dry and almost chicken-like texture. At this point we were still waiting for our STARTERS. When we told them about our starters they noticed they’d put them on the wrong table and the people on that table just accepted them without ordering it. They made us more starters but the calamari was basically like a rubber band. And the French fries were OKAY. When we rightfully asked to have the calamari and the fish removed from the bill as they were not eaten at all, they said they couldn’t and just provide a slight discount which did not justify the poor food quality and long wait times. The staff clearly are often confused by orders going to incorrect places and having to take back which is maybe an indicator as to why it was all cold.
