When we arrived, we got a different room than we booked (we booked via Agoda with the AC, but got only with a fan). We ask the lady manager who was there and she said „No you did not“ and showed us some reservation on her mobile from a completely different company/website (with a completely different name of the room). We opened our laptop and showed her the description and pictures of the room we booked on Agoda and it was clearly with the AC. We were very surprised and shocked by what came next….she started very aggressively yelling at us something like „it’s your problem, not mine, I don’t have any responsibility for this, you solve it with Agoda, if you want a room with the AC, pay more (at that moment it was plus 1100 pesos for 2 nights stay), etc. She repeated herself over and over a did not even let us speak (literally every time we opened our mouths to say something, we said one or two words maximum and she yelled at us again). ||||We remained calm on the outside at that time (even though inside we weren’t) and asked to speak with someone else (it wasn’t possible with this person), so her husband came and we tried to explain to him. At least he was not yelling and let us speak, so it was a normal decent human being conversation. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to solve anything or do anything or offer us some solution. He contacted Agoda and let us know he is waiting for the reply. We waited there for like 2 hours and they were not able to come up with some solution. We even tried to negotiate some solution working for both sides, we’ve had several suggestions, but he only told us he is waiting for the answer, later he offered us a „discount“ (instead of plus 1100 pesos we were supposed to pay plus 800 pesos), but that’s not what we booked and already paid for, we did not want to pay that much money extra. In the end, we arranged a deal that he will cancel our stay with Agoda and charge us 50% (so we should get at least a 50% refund). The deal was he will send the email and put us in the copy. Meantime we found a different hotel so we left after this arrangement. Of course, we received nothing in our mailbox.||||After two days we stopped by, just to ask why he didn't put us in the copy as we arranged, he started making excuses showing us only a screenshot on his mobile from an application that said „Agoda customer service has 2 days to respond“, but not actual request or whatever he sent them. He said he has it on a laptop, so I asked him to bring the laptop then. He went inside their house and we waited …. quite a long time… then the aggressive lady showed up and started yelling at us again something like „You did not book the room with the AC“ again and again, we really tried to tell her we are here just to see the email confirmation we dealt on. She continued yelling things like „leave this place“, „you are not welcomed here“, „I will call the police“, „I’m Filipino, you can’t do anything“, etc. We rather left than continue with this nonsense aggressive and rude behavior from her side, we were angry enough at that point (and not calm anymore), that someone had the audacity to yell at us and don’t let us say a word (even if she was actually asking as something when yelled at us). By the way, her husband never showed up again, he stayed hidden inside as a coward. ||||The lady knew exactly what is going on (she admitted to us she know about the Agoda reservation problem) and they both lied to our face without any shame, so congratulations, they got the money. Customer service zero…worse than a zero. That was our 3-hour experience with Pisces Tourist Inn. Avoid this place at any cost! We have never ever experienced this type of behavior and we traveled a lot across eastern Asian countries. Even though after that we had a nice hotel and a great island hopping tour, our experience a vacation in this location was ruined...

Our stay at Pisces Tourist Inn was a combination of good and not-so-good experiences. Let me start with the positives:
Pros: Great Location: The inn is conveniently close to the beach. We loved how easily accessible the shore was whenever we felt like taking a stroll. Clean and Comfortable Rooms: The rooms were nice and clean, and we appreciated the availability of a hot shower. Cozy Common Area: The common area was a great spot to relax, especially during breakfast and at night. Surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes, despite the abundance of plants around. Affordable Rates: At P2350 per night for a room for two, the price was definitely reasonable. Unlimited Coffee: Guests can enjoy unlimited coffee 24/7, which was a nice touch. Peaceful Surroundings: The inn is far from the bars, making the area very quiet—perfect for those seeking a relaxing stay.
Cons: Inconsistent Customer Service: The main downside for us was the customer service provided by the lady owner/caretaker (we’re unsure of her exact role, but she was the one welcoming guests and answering questions). Unfortunately, we noticed a clear difference in how she interacted with foreign guests compared to us, a Filipino family.
For example, she greeted foreign guests warmly in the mornings, saw them off during check-out, and engaged in casual conversations in the common area—none of which we experienced. Initially, I thought perhaps she simply wasn’t the type to be overly friendly. However, after observing her interactions with international guests over several days, and later discussing it with my family, we realized it wasn’t just our imagination.
One particular incident that stood out was when I was asking her a question. Before I could finish, she turned her back and walked away while answering. It was disappointing, especially since I had arranged the trip for my in-laws and wanted them to have the best experience possible.
On a positive note, the other staff members were wonderful. Her husband was consistently warm and welcoming, always smiling and greeting us. The “nanay” was the friendliest of all—always ready with a smile and a cheerful greeting.
Limited Breakfast Options: The breakfast menu had limited choices—mainly bread-based meals and four silog dishes. During our stay, one silog option wasn’t available, and on our second day, we had to change an order because only two servings were left when we needed three. These are minor issues but worth mentioning for future guests.
Overall Impression: Despite these concerns, my family and I still had a fun and enjoyable time at Port Barton. It’s definitely a place we’d love to return to. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose Pisces Tourist Inn again.
While I commend the owners for representing Filipino hospitality well when accommodating international guests, I hope they can extend the same warmth and fairness to all guests, including fellow Filipinos. The inn itself has great potential, but without consistent customer service, it could be a disappointment for those seeking a truly...
Read moreThis is a small place in Port Barton with a charming garden which is few minutes walk from the beach about 600 meters.
Although the rooms are clean and nicely partitioned, with bathrooms, they are not comfortable.
I stayed in this place for a few days and did not have a single good night's sleep. I switched rooms 3 times. First one I could not sleep in my room and spent the night outside as my room which smells strongly of paint which immediately gave me headache. (Mosquitos were bearable than the toxic and musty smell) The second one doesn't have much natural light. It was dark and musty. The pillows were smelly and filthy, and the bed was thick and way too soft, which makes you feel like you're drowning every time you lay down and can cause back ache. And then I moved to the 3rd one, which has at least natural light as I was too sick and weak to move to another hotel. That's when I realized that all the mattresses and pillows in the rooms are all the same.
Because of its garden and hardly any natural light. There are so many mosquitos in the rooms no matter how careful you are in making sure the door is always closed. The air quality in the room is not healthy (moldy). I was surprised that after I complained about the first room, they still gave it to other guests who eventually, also asked for a transfer after their first night. The wifi reception was not very good as well.
The sad part is that when I brought these issues to the owner, she was not very receptive about the feedback. Other guests told me of the same experience with the owner having a long face when they bring up issues which I thought such reaction is so counter productive.
If you ever come here, check the quality of the air in the room first before deciding to check in. You don't want to end up getting sick with the musty and moldy smell and not getting a good sleep like myself and the other guests.
I hope business owners in Port Barton will really consider tourists' comfort and health as opposed to being more focused on making more money. The only way to do this is to listen to guests' complaints/feedback and take it constructively so you can improve your services/facilities and deliver better. And these reviews are not only to help travelers but also to help you improve...
