Hotel RODOLFO — Hotel in Tacloban

We booked this hotel for 2 nights before traveling to Kalanggaman in Palompon. The location is excellent: easy to hail a tricycle to get around town. It's only a 2-minute walk to the street Avenida Veteranos where you can ride a jeep going straight to the airport. There's also a mini-grocery across the street. And you can walk to a good rest-grill Jo's Inato for lunch or dinner. Staff members are polite and efficient. They were quick to respond to our requests. The room amenities are old and need upgrade (broken towel holder, towels and mat- while all clean - are no longer white and need replacing). Internet connection was poor (Room 401) so we relied on mobile data all the time to get connected. But all these were minor issue to us because we only cared about good service, clean sheets and working hot/cold shower, which the hotel provided. TIP: If you're going to Kalanggaman, you can take a tricycle from the hotel to Van-Vans Terminal, which has Tacloban-Palompon trips. I don’t have high standards for hotels when I travel. Let’s face it, we don’t travel to different places just to stay in hotels. What does disappoint me is when a hotel is not what was advertised. I booked a Deluxe Queen room and thought it was kind of small but figured it was a normal thing at this hotel, that is until I rented a second room for some of our family. Their room was a lot nicer and even had a table with chairs like it showed in the pictures. The staff were nice but the business and facility was a lot less than desirable. The location was OK. I’ve stayed in better hotels for the same price with better locations. This will teach me to try out new places. I think I’ll abandon the remainder of my stay here and find a better hotel. I booked in this hotel through email and was expecting a comfortable room to stay as me and my family planned to stay in the city for a week but I was a bit upset when I saw the room, it is small (as I am expecting a lil bigger room same as what we had last year when we stayed here) and the extra bed (which is only a foam placed on the floor) did not fit in the mid of the two beds so we adjusted the beds. But the service is exemplary. And really like to thank the associate who gave me the important thing that I forgot in the room. I did not see his nameplate (my bad). Really thanks.
