We recently had an overnight trip to Tacloban with the whole fam, we stayed at Ironwood. Gotta say, for a place where I had meetings practically glued to my chair from morning till the afternoon, it was pretty decent. And bonus – we snagged the Ironwood Suite! Seriously spacious with this huge living room, which was a lifesaver with the kids. Definitely felt a bit fancy without being stuffy.||The whole thing was organized by this guy, Victorino Mendiola. Super efficient, didn't have to chase anyone for anything. Made the check-in a breeze, which is always a win when you've got the whole crew in tow.||But the real treat? Dinner up on the rooftop. They had this Malaysian food thing going on, which was surprisingly good! We all tried different stuff, and everything was pretty tasty. Plus, eating with a view of Tacloban at night was kinda nice.||The overnight stay itself was comfy. The suite was really clean and had everything we needed. That living room I mentioned? Seriously came in handy for just chilling out together in the evening. And breakfast the next morning was a good, solid way to kickstart the day before heading out again.||So yeah, overall, Ironwood Tacloban was a solid choice for our family trip. Super convenient location, Vic and his team made everything easy, that Malaysian dinner was a fun surprise, and the Ironwood Suite? Definitely worth it if you need the extra space. Would totally recommend if you're ever...
Read moreThis hotel is located in down town are which is rather busy..Hotel staff are usually very polite ,respectful and helpful. In any hotel you will get always good staff the difference is made by the management..I have been traveling to Philipinnes every month for the last 3 years.Last time I came on 21 th July in to Manila and I went 5 days under compulsory quarantine and at the arrival check point also had a swab test. After having negative test result I came to Tacloban and also went under 14 days quarantine in Ironwood hotel . If XYZ was not under renovation I would go there coz management and staff in XYZ is better than any other hotel in Tacloban.. The problem I had in Ironwood hotel I stayed from 27 th july till 18 th August 2020 I had first very noisy room and it took them 6-7 days to change I was one of the a few people staying in the hotel at that time.. Later they said they upgraded to slightly bigger room and on the 4 th floor but again I had no hot water like the first noisy room.I reminded manager and the reception staff almost every day nothing happened.. No change.. Therefore I you are prepared for the unexpected constant noise in the room and cold shower I would recommend otherwise has to be your last choice.I thing this hotel needs a good manager or g.manager...
Read moreA quality hotel in the middle of Tacloban City. ||I had stayed next door previously and it was an okay experience, but had dinner on the top floor of this hotel and was intrigued, so this time, I decided to book here two years by law.||I was able to get a ride from the airport and they even waited for me when my flight was late. The check in was a breeze.||Unfortunately, I was given a room with no window, but there were some benefits for it. Namely, the bed is probably the best hotel bed I've every slept in. It was incredibly comfortable. Combine that with little outside noise and I got a complete night of sleep every night.||The room was good overall and the bathroom the same. The bathroom had some loose fitting pieces, but Engineering fixed them almost immediately.||There was some painting going on, so the hallways ended up smelling a bit 1-2 days, but once in your room, it went away. I wish they would have notified that to use just to prepare us.||The hotel has two restaurants. One at the base and one on the top floor. Both were great and included breakfast was offered on the ground floor. The top floor had great filipino fusion options and enjoyed it.||If I ever come back, I'll need to...
