Summary: This is the worst motel ever. Terrible experience.
First of all, this 'hotel' is a big fake. This is a MOTEL. The receptionist kept insisting that they were a hotel.
Second, the bathroom supplies they gave us were LEFTOVERS. The sheets and towels were so filthy, the kettle was falling apart, and one of the lights weren't working.
Third, they charged us four times. The first two times when we checked in for these rooms. In order for our companions to stay with us in our family room, they charged us a room for two people. They wanted to keep charging us for the other room, even if they weren't using any facilities. They weren't even sleeping in our room. They were hardly considerate when it came to your own guests visiting your room.
Lastly, they were very uncourteous. We were a big group split in two rooms. A family room and regular room. Very much unlike standard hotels, they did not let our other companions go inside our family room. The family room fits four people. My brother fell asleep in the standard room for two people, but the rude receptionist kept insisting that it wasn't allowed even if the family room fit four people and only three of us were there.
Even the guard was trying to argue with us. He didn't give assistance after, did not open the door nor help us out with the car. They did not treat us like customers even though they overcharged us by a quarter of the time. No apologies were given.
If you are planning to go to this motel, kindly reconsider. We've been to different motels and hotels but here we got our WORST...
Read moreMariposa Budget Hotel is located on a very busy thoroughfare in the Metro Manila suburb of Taytay, Rizal. Though this property seems to be one of the better lodgings in the area, noise can be an issue for travelers seeking a quiet ambience. The constant noise of trucks, motorcycles and public transport vehicles, many with nonfunctioning mufflers, can be heard throughout the building all day. Rooms in the rear of the building have additional noise from roosters crowing during the early hours of the morning. Although this hotel has no restaurant, there is a large mall nearby (about a five-minute walk) with numerous fast food eateries and restaurants. My room had hot water in the shower, but not in the sink. The room was clean and had no evidence of bugs or foul odors. One must surrender one’s key before leaving the building. Next door to the hotel is a small shop that sells bottled water, soft drinks, and other items for much lower prices than those charged in the hotel. There are similar small shops directly behind the hotel.||Mariposa Budget caters not only to overnight travelers and families, but also to patrons, mainly couples, who are charged by the hour. On my last day at the hotel I noticed a sign (see photo) showing hourly rates charged to...
Read moreMariposa Budget Hotel was strategically located near the place of my client within Taytay. Hence, it was an absolute best choice for accommodation.||Doing my research, its reviews would mostly state value for money which is quite right. However, during my 1st check-in date, the reality is the place is a provincial love nest. You'll get used to it eventually but the lobby can get quite crowded on "peak" hours if you know what I mean (no pun intended).||Housekeeping and receptionist (any shift) are very accommodating and helpful so this made my stay enjoyable.||However, my biggest concern is the quality of sleep. During late nights I am supposed to be sound asleep coming from a very tiring schedule, I cannot get comfort with the pillow so elevated and thick. I would bet that it was really not designed for longer duration stay which is why revenue recognition is by the hour.||Overall, the place is nice and would offer great...
