Amber Studio — Hotel in Gdansk

Seriously one of the badest experiences I had so far with hostels. The whole place smelled so moldy I had to sleep with open windows. Luckily I was there in summer, cause there are no heaters in the rooms. One of the bad smells sources was my blanket, which I couldn't use therefore. Fungus is growing in the air filters and it was one of the most humid places I've ever been to. The day I arrived there was no running water, my request was answered at 22:30 in the night, ten hours after my arrival. Wifi stopped working after one day, nobody ever answered. I had the back pain of my life after sleeping in my really uncomfortable bed. There is only one shower for 5 rooms (up to 4 people per room). ||Best thing that happened was that my room was overbooked and somebody just opened the door while I layed in bed at night. ||I would not have stayed there, but everything I could afford was already booked. I tried to get in touch with the owner but nobody answered and all my mails came back. At least the room was clean, but that doesn't help at all. ||All in all: a horrible experience! Me and my boyfriend booked this hostel because of the location. It's near the beach and a bus stop is 2 minutes away. That was a plus but when we arrived at night we could not find this place and it was no sign or anything. Polish strangers helped us by calling the hostel phone that is open 24h. When we finally found the place we walked in to room nr 5. There were no pillows or duvets, only blankets and sheets and the room was smaller than anything I have seen before. The place is a flat with separately rented rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are really small with bunk beds but the sea is in walking distance, trams and buses round the corner so u can easily get everywhere. ||The place is clean, with wifi, maps and lots of useful info for the turists.||So if u need a place to sleep and planning to spend the days up and about - does...
