It was my moms birthday and I took her to Poland, Gdansk so she can see Baltic sea and we could have a nice romantic lunch near sea side. We didn't have much time, so the first good looking place we saw after coming from tram, was Bar41. There was a lot of nice photoshoot areas, so my mom was happy to be photographed there at first place. Then we chose a table outside and waited for staff. But it never arrived. Coz it appeared to be a self service place, which of course, we as newcomers, didn't know. So the sign "self service" places outside would be helpful I believe.
We went inside and... yes, there were a few ladies at the bar, who take orders/payment, which were the least friendly people I have seen in Poland. I constantly thought I am saying something wrong. I tried to smile a lot of times and even say that it's my moms bday. But guess what? She remained sour-faces even after this comment. Serious staff problem, as for me.
They didn't have all fish selection by the time we arrived (2-3pm), which was upsetting. Tapped Prosseco that we got to do cheers was surved in plastic cups. The lady who was pouring drink, could have guessed that for birthday it would be smarter to propose at least glasses.
Dishes were simple, tasty, but nothing something extraordinary. For two people and two fish dishes + 2 small prosseco glasses and 2 sangrias (which was not tasty) we paid 200 Zlotys.
Summary: if you search for mix of cheap shavarma service and costly sea view - come here. Otherwise, don't do our mistake, coming here for special occasion and too much...
Read moreI visited bar 41 in Gdańsk recently, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I initially ordered a hamburger, but when they ran out, I was offered chicken strips as an alternative. The presentation of the dish was quite poor—a handful of fries haphazardly arranged on a tray lined with parchment paper, four fried chicken strips, two pickles, and a dollop of what appeared to be store-bought remoulade.
I expressed my dissatisfaction with how it looked, and the staff member offered to replace it with a chicken salad, which was better but still not great. I had to ask if the price would be adjusted accordingly, which was an additional inconvenience.
Additionally, I was initially told I could charge my phone, but later a different staff member informed me that it wasn’t possible. This inconsistency in service was frustrating. Overall, the service lacked attentiveness and professionalism, and the food did not meet my expectations. I hope they can improve in these areas for...
Read moreInstagram worthy, however… We ordered food, got a pager and went outside to wait until our food was ready. It started raining, the kind of rain that soaks you through to the bone and there’s nowhere to hide. We tried to get inside the restaurant but it turned out we got locked out! Still waiting for food we paid for! Tried banging on the glass door, staff members have seen us but couldn’t care less, a customer went to get someone to open the door for us and let us in. Didn’t get the food cause we were dripping, I demanded my money back and we went to a different restaurant instead. Tried it the next day for drinks only as it’s right at the beach and it does look nice, but the staff was miserable and not very interested in the customers at all. Also you have to pay for some sitting areas, which I find ridiculous. Can’t recommend at all because our experience was absolutely terrible. Go, take some pictures at the swings, but eat...
