After a recent stay at Krakow we stayed out the Xerion hotel for 3 nights, it was a mixed but pleasant experience.
The hotels interior and exterior was impressive as is most of Krakows architecture. It was boasting an appealing bar and restaurant, although regrettably, we didn't have the opportunity to dine there due to a packed itinerary. Our room, a standard double or twin in the Atrium, was pleasant but showed signs of poor maintenance, with some parts falling apart and damage to the walls. Despite this, the fully stocked mini fridge was a convenient touch.
Notably, we had to request new towels, which were specified in the room description and to be fair when we requested them they was in our room within a couple of minutes. Despite these minor inconveniences, the room was relatively quite, allowing for a decent night's sleep after a long day of exploration, despite the bed not being the most comfortable. Also to note the Tv available had 0 english channels so wasn't used. Also the glass wasn't frosted on the door and was covered by a broken curtain rail which reduced the privacy in the room.
One of the highlights of the stay at the hotel was the exceptionally friendly staff, who went above and beyond to accommodate us, even allowing us to store our suitcases after checkout for our late flight.
Regarding the location, the hotel is situated about a 10 or 15 minute walk from Krakow's center, or a short taxi ride for a nominal fee. However, worth noting solo travellers may find the walk somewhat unnerving, as the hotel appears to be tucked away in a back alley, although we felt safe throughout or stay.
Unfortunately our room lacked any noteworthy views
In summary, while the Xerion Hotel has it charms, such as friendly staff and convenient location, attention to maintenance could greatly improve the overall experience.
We travelled via Jet2 and the hotel was reasonably priced compared to staying in the center and in my opinion was worth staying here for the price if the price increased or began to touch the competitors prices near the center i would be inclined to stop near the centre for...
Read moreI thought long and hard about weather or not to change my review. However how they handled certain situations since tje review and since I've checked out forces me to reconsider and reveal the truth of my stay. The breakfast service- was inconsistent at best. Some servers came to you and offered the hot breakfast other you had to walk up to. And no it had nothing to do with he amount of people in the establishment Over all lack of attention to clients needs during breakfast service. Meaning that frequently guests had to inform staff of this like glasses liquids or buffet item deficiencies. They will try and double bill you as a foreigner if you let th know you are having credit card issues - my main one was sten on the first day The rooms are not secure- I was put in a room where rhe door did not latch properly and I had key issues. Unfortunately I didn't discover just how bad the door issue was till my second last day so I didn't mention. It at the time, instead chose to do it at checkout somehow invalidating the existence of the flaw. Even though footage could have been checked to verify the information Their problem resolution skis are equivalent to that of an orangutang. Not only did they try and double charge me, they're fused to acknowledge any of my concerns based in my choice to stay at tje hotel and only aftess the issues at check out. They lied regarding when my room was getting cleaned resulting in a refusal to Doble check for possessions left behind and their staff appropriating things that were lost. Their menue was missing at leastb1/2 the items at any given point in time Their service to paying guest is sub par. Over all the experience was horrible, the only plus to the whole thing was the location snd interior decoration. I seriously considering recuperating my money from the photo shoots I did at the location as I refuse to promote such a...
Read moreI have only just come home from here and I think this is the worst hotel i've ever stayed in!
Firstly as we arrived we noticed there was no frosted glass on our hotel room door, and there was a curtain to cover it that was basically broke so there was always a gap, so this wasn't very private.
Then we noticed there was a strange woman hanging around on the ground floor near the rooms, she was there most nights it didn't look like she was a guest so i was suspicious as if she was watching the guests rooms.
There was a mouldy smell that came from the bathroom, as everytime you had a shower the water would run underneath to the bedroom and the carpet would be wet. Which also was a health and safety issue!!!
On our second night we arrived back to the hotel in the evening after being on a trip, to our room being 'cleaned' even though we left the DO NOT DISTURB sign on, my suitcase was broken into and the room wasnt even cleaned all the cleaners done was make the bed and replace the old towels. There was pieces of my suitcase all over the carpet that they didnt clean and wasnt there before I left.
So as soon as I reported this to the reception they looked gormless to what has just happened, and had said this has never happened apparently??
There was also another guest who stayed on the same floor who had money taken from his room that was hidden in a secure place, (this was the same day as my incident) so I now assume that the cleaners are thieves looking for valuable items.
I got told to email the hotel's email address, I still have got no response from this as i've emailed 4 times, which is absolutely ridiculous, so i now am going to have to take it further.
PLEASE DONT STAY HERE!! They seem to watch you..i've never felt so unsafe in a...
