My experience at this hostel was quite unpleasant due to the behavior of the lady at the reception desk. Unfortunately, she did not speak English, which made communication difficult and frustrating. While waiting to check-in, I found myself constantly being disturbed by her. The hostel had a designated waiting area, but she would approach me and dictate how I should sit or position myself. As someone who was tired and just wanted to rest my back and relax for a while, I found this interference unnecessary and bothersome. It would have been more considerate if she had approached me politely or asked if I needed any assistance. To make matters worse, there was a moment when I tried to have a short nap on one of the sofas in the waiting area, only to be rudely awakened by her. This lack of respect for my privacy and comfort was highly disappointing. I believe hostels should strive to employ staff who are friendly, helpful, and considerate towards their guests. Unfortunately, this particular receptionist did not fit that description. In conclusion, my experience at this hostel was marred by the rude behavior of the elderly lady at the reception desk. I strongly believe that hostels should not allow such individuals to interact with guests, as it significantly affects the overall experience. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration and works towards improving their guest services.

It's an okay place. Pros: The room including the bed was good enough. The toilet was quite fresh and clean for a shared one. The facilities were just what we needed. Good location. Cons: There was a creepy male guest who kept using the female toilet. We reported it to the staff several times; the staff claimed to have spoken to the creepy guest, but the creepy guest kept coming to the female toilet. We even tried to talk to that creepy guest once, but he claimed the men's toilet didn't have toilet paper. But come on, he obviously has a mouth and the ability to speak and can ask the staff for toilet paper. He didn't have to wave his private part around at the women's toilet (he peed with an open door and showed his private part). We also noticed that the creepy guest kept coming to the female toilet whenever there was only one female guest in there. Coincidence much?? We are disappointed that, despite reporting this several times to the staff, nothing changed. It doesn't feel safe to have someone with that kind of perverted behaviour. Although the behaviour of other guests is not directly the responsibility of the place, we would of course appreciate that the place/staff could help create a safe environment for everyone.

This hostel is terrible. I hated it from the moment I got in. The smell of cigarettes is constant; there is always someone smoking next to the reception, and as they leave the doors open, it gets to the corridors and rooms. The sheets are stained, the bed was uncomfortable, full of ants, no ventilation in the rooms, and no towels. I could barely sleep with people talking loudly and smoking all evening. The bathroom has a smell so bad it's hard to explain or forget. They only get good ratings because when you check out, they offer you a free coffee for a good review, and people don't care at this point. I hated every single moment in this place; it was the worst. I left as soon as I could. True nightmare. I felt scammed.

I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights in mid-September of 2019 in Rm 219. I think this is their best room based on the cost of the room. Do not confuse this hostel with Warsaw Central Hostel. They are totally different places from each other.||||The first thing you should know about this hostel is not quite located on Emilli Platter. Their website gives directions on how to get there. The reason why you need to know this is that you have to walk through a gateway off Emilli Platter to reach a courtyard where the hostel is located. If you go strictly by address you will have a hard time finding this place. Hence, follow the idrection given on their webiste or take my directions above which I think is better.||||I suggest the following insturctions. When you arrive at Warsaw Central Station walk down the corridor between the tracks until you reach a stairway going up between Track(Peron) 2 and 3. As you walk up the stiars you will see right above and behind you the large station’s schedule/track display board.||||At the top of the stairs you turn left and walk about 100 feet or so until you come the exit from the station. Do not go up the escalator in front of the stairs coming up from the track corridor. This leads to a food court where there is a McDonalds if you want it.||||Upon exiting the station, turn right until you see a pedestrian walkway going across the lanes. About 10 yards from the door. There is another entry into the station right where the pedestrian walkway is.||||After crossing the lanes keep walking directly away from the station following the walkway. Do no enter any doorways into buildings. It will have turns to the right but it will keep going away from the station. This will lead you directly to the street Emilli Platter, which is a wide street with lots of traffic. From the station door to the street is about a 100 yards.||||Once you reach the street you will see the very distinctive Palace of Science and Culture on your left. It is a large white building that has a large square bottom with a thin column going up the upper half of the bulding. It has been described as like a Ghostbuster building. Anyway, turn left and walk along Emillii Platter keeping the Palace of Science and Culture on your right. You will pass it since it appears Emillii Platter parallels it.||||Keep walking along this side of the street. You will pass the Intercontinental Warsaw hotel(on same side of street you are) as you go walking along here. You will pass 4 pedestrian stripped driveway from the station. ||||At roughly 400 meters/yards away from the station you will come to the first intersection with traffic lights. There is a Starbucks Coffee(on the same side you are) just 20 feet from the street corner. Wait until the pedestrian signs says you can walk across.||||Once you cross the street, you will then immediately cross Emilii Platter at the same intersection. After crossing Emilii Platter, turn left to continue down Emilii Platter away from the train station. You will go about 30 meters/yards until you come to a driveway that goes through the building to a courtyard with trees. Go through the drive way to the courtyard. || ||Upon entering the courtyard, you will angle right and straight down the parking/driveway area. You will go about 30 meers/yards until you see a sidewalk on your left heading away from the driveway. You will see a black sign with white 36A on it about 10 feet up on the side of the building and a wroughtiron gate below. it. There is also a sign next to to the sign for 36A that says Hostel Centrum as well. That is the main entry to the hostel. ||||The gate is sometimes locked during the day. Just click the buzzer on the intercome box and they will let you in. Once past the gate keeping going straight until you come to the first door on your left. This takes you straight into reception. I hope these instructions help you.||||There is a fairly decent supermarket very close to the hostel. Less than 5 minutes walking. Just exit the hostel and turn left down the driveway instead of right like you originally came in. ||||Once you reach the street turn immediately right and walk about 20 meters/yards and turn left crossing the street via the pedestrian striped lane. Keep going straight once you cross the street and the first store on your left is the supermarket. There is an ATM machine here as well. ||||The supermarket is not large but it has some fruits and vegetables, like oragnes, grapes, grapefruits as well as salad and spinach bags. There are also sliced meats and cheese packages in the store for a single or two meals. A good place to get a meal and bring it back either to eat it or cook it.||||The hostel looks reminds me of a college dorm in many ways. The color white is everywhere. It gives me a sense of order and cleaniness. The bathroom was very clean and had that lemony fresh smell. The hostel has what appears to be a long term cleaning staff. Not the volunteers that other hostels have.||||The hostel felt very secure as well. The front gate as I stated before is usually locked. The only way to open it is with the key fob you get after registration or via buzzing the intercom in front. You have to use the key fob to access your room or the area where your room is located.||||There are kitchen area located around the hostel. The one nearest me had had a kitchen sink, microwave, small refrig, and a coffee maker. There were plates, cutlery, bowls, and mugs as well. There were also sitting areas where there were tables and chairs.||||The website for this hostel was good in detailing the various rooms you can choose from along with their detailed decriptions. They provided rates for each. You can reserve the selected room on the website as well. You have two option on the website when reserving your room. You can pay in advance or upon arrival. If you pay in advance you get a slight discount in the normal rate but it is non-refundable once you make it or whatever reason. ||||I splurge on this hostel and got their best. I got Rm 219 which is all the way in the back. It is a very small room with a double bed. It has two blankets folded up like it could be for each person on the bed. There is only one foot of free space on the left and right side of the bed. There is a small bedside table on each side of roughly 1 foot square or ¼ meter square. On one side is a small reading lamp. There are two electrical soeckets above the bed which one is being used the reading lamp.||||Opposite the bed are two chairs side by side which I put my smaller bag and other things on. There is also a table of 1 foot square or ¼ meter square you can put stuff.||||There is a window that faces outside that hs curtains. You can open the window if you want.||||It appears all the rooms are on the 2nd floor. Just before entering reception there is a corridor that leads to stairs. You go up those to the 2nd floor. Then there is a long hallway with rooms on both sides. ||||From the brief looks I saw inside the room they seemed lively and pleasant to sleep in. Certinaly not dingy and drab. Bright colors. There seemed to be a decent amount of space in them.||||Reception appear to know English fairly well or well enough to check you in and give you some info. ||||The area around the hostel seem safe to walk around even at night. There are lots of shops and restaurants around especiallhy toward Warsaw Central. Like I mentioned there is a Starbuck Coffee very closeby.||||Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the very much. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. I think women would especially...

After arriving in Warsaw, Poland enroute to Ukraine made the decision to remain in Warsaw for a few days prior to heading to Leiv and Kyiv, Ukraine. Book a five night stay at the Warsaw Hostel Centrum in downtown Warsaw. This hostel is an adult-only property conveniently located a short distance from the Palace of Culture & Science (a 3-minute walk) and a 7-minute walk to Warszawa Centralna Train Station. Golden Terraces Shopping Center with a multitude of shops is just a short distance away. The property is accessed through a gate at 36 Emilii Plater Street. The hostel is in the courtyard. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), wearing a face mask is mandatory in all indoor communal areas. This hostel has a 24-hour staffed front desk fluent in English, Polish and Russian, a small kitchen and a luggage storage room available for use by its clients. Free coffee, and tea are available in the lobby as well as a computer station. Additional items (juice, soft drinks, and water) may be purchased at the reception desk. This twenty-five-room hostel has a variety of rooms available from double rooms to a bunk in an 8-bunk dormitory room. Nonsmoking room are also available. Restroom facilities are shared and located at the end of the hallways. Stayed in room 217 at the end of the second-floor hallway. This is an 8-bunk dormitory style room. Each bunk comes with sheets, blankets, and pillow. A metal locker is provided to storage your luggage. Towels are not provided and may be purchased at the front desk if needed. Bunk bed was comfortable, and the blanks will keep you warm on very cold nights. Be advised this facility is open 24 hours a day, and guest come and go at all hours. Some guests are mindful of others, and try to limit their noise, while others have no respect for sleeping guests and go out of their way to disturb everyone. Overall, a suitable place and price for a budget stay! Due to a medical emergency was unable to travel to Ukraine. Had to cancel the remainder of my trip and return to the USA for immediate medical treatment. Hostel Centrum Warsaw was very accommodating and went out of their way to assist me. Thank you for your help during my medical crisis. Would highly recommend this facility to everyone traveling to Warsaw on a budget or just visiting for a few days. You will not find a better location and helpful staff. Will be returning to Poland in the future and will be most certainly staying at...

I am a backpacker who's visited 40+ countries and hundreds of hostels so far. I made a list of my best and worst hostel experiences. This hostel ranks 4th in the top 5 worst hostels I visited.

My room was terrible. No ventilation or fresh air so it was moldy. The space is crammed and the lockers are small so they just take space. Guests with bigger backpacks end up leaving them outside making the space even more crammed. The bunkbeds are flimsy and every movement makes them squeak. I was awoken up twice at night by outside noise because there is no soundproofing. I couldn't sleep well here :
