Original post at 1 Nov 2022. I booked 2 room Evora Olive Hotel for period of 6-13 November 2022 (2*7 room-nights), booking ID 804180409. However, on 31 October I got excessive bleeding from my nose non-stop for few hours until I was fainted and brought to hospital emergency. I got blood transfusion 2 packs. The next day, 1 Nov, I sent request to the hotel via Agoda for cancellation waiver request as follows:
Unable to travel due to emergency hospitalisation since last night due to excessive nose bleeding. I am currently in Accident & Emergency dept (A&E dept) Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore, getting blood transfusion. I would appreciate if you could waive the cancellation fee. Pls contact me at & cc to to get supporting docs if needed.
Today, I am very disappointed that the hotel rejected my cancellation request despite life threatening medical emergency case. My Doctor bans me from travelling until year end. How could possibly I travel? Anyway, I will cancel the booking, so the hotel can sell the room for other guests. I just hope you are sympathetic enough to refund my booking fees of SGD 1753.48 (approx EUR 1265). ‐----------- Update 16 Nov 2022. I appreciate your gesture in offering credit valid until 30 June 2023. I hope I could travel there once my health condition allow me to travel. I also revise my rating 4 stars & will update against once...

There is very little direct lighting; lots of backlighting or under lighting that create a very distinct ambiance. I especially enjoyed the shower and the separate toilet room. The bath & pool towels are very soft.
The hotel restaurant is expensive. We ate dinner there one night. It was quite tasty, and our server (Hugo) was wonderful and helpful. The breakfast part of our reservation got messed up, so we ended up eating elsewhere which proved to be a good bargain. (Visit the waffle, crepe, and gelato shop up the hill nearby.)
If you plan to stay at this hotel, make sure to do 2 things: Book directly through the hotel website. It may subtly route you to a third party site, which seems to be how our reservation got messed up. We paid enough for the included breakfast, but it seems that a 3rd party site (that we didn’t know we used) dropped that part of the reservation and took a 100€ commission fee. The hotel administration was unsympathetic and unhelpful in resolving that issue.
If you’re driving, the hotel has a private garage on site. However, GoogleMaps told me to drive on private roads or narrow lanes that, in reality, were closed to vehicles. So, make sure to get clear directions from hotel staff prior...
