Great central location at first sight but not the place to stay. Let s start with the positives. The room is clean and reasonably big, the bathroom ok, water pressure great. However, I am completely exhausted as I could not close an eye all Night. The place must be surrounded by bars and night life is active so people walked passed all night TIL the sun came up. As the windows are very badly insulated and the noise seems to travel up the old walls, it was extremely, but really extremely noisy all night and the longest “break” I had was 2 minutes. When I walked down to see if reception maybe has ear plugs or can give me another room, an unfriendly staff member just told me that the bars are open all night and this noise won’t stop and he can do nothing about it. No empathy, no intent to help in whatever way, he just didn’t care, as he made clear.
Évora is a beautiful place to visit but without any sleep I am not gonna enjoy it as much.
I think with done effort for noise insulation this problem...

The hostel is located in the center of Evora and we parked our car inside the city walls and payed the hourly rate. The place offers private rooms with private bathrooms and breakfast is included. Breakfast is a usual continental buffet with bread, cheese and ham and jam. Some of the rooms do have a balcony with the view on the small plaza in the front but I consider back rooms quieter albeit smaller. If you are looking for value and not much unnecessary luxury, this is a...
Read moreI stayed in a private room with double bed and private bathroom for 2 nights. The room is comfortable for one person but may be a too small for 2 persons. The bathroom was functional with very good hot shower. My room was on first floor so I could hear voices from the street way into the night during weekend even though the windows were shut - bring ear plugs. The receptionist was helpful, the restaurant recommendations were not up to mark though, and breakfast was youth hostel style. Location is very central in the historic part of the walled town, about 20-min walk from the bus terminal. The cobblestone street was hard on...
