As a coffee professional who owns an espresso bar, I take great pride in how coffee is made and served—and unfortunately, this place missed the mark in almost every way.
First, the service: the woman behind the counter was condescending from the start. I asked for a cortado (equal parts espresso and steamed milk), and she was argumentative, “Explain to me what that is.” I did, politely. She continued to argue. What I received was not a cortado—it was a large mug filled with frothed milk and a shot of espresso dumped in after. More like an oversized macchiato, and not a good one. I tried to clarify again what a cortado is, and she insisted, “Yes, this is it.” It tasted like watery chalk. I threw it away. Honestly, I’d rather drink chalk, at least id have a story.
Second, the seating situation. The café was nearly empty—just us and two other young women. We sat at a table for four, and were immediately asked to move “just in case a large group comes in.” We were told to sit at the bar in the window, but it was uncomfortably hot in there. I rarely sweat, and even I was sweating.
So, we tried to sit outside where almost all patrons were sitting—but there were no tables left, so we took a seat on the bench against the cafe. At that point, we were told we couldn’t have our coffee served to us outside, in case we broke the cups. What? Are we children?
At that point, I asked to cancel the food order and said I’d just pay for the (undrinkable) coffee and leave. When I went to pay, I found out they don’t take Apple Pay. Fine—I offered to use a card. But then they told me their card machine was down. No sign, no warning, no apology.
This experience was frustrating from start to finish. Rude service, poorly made coffee, uncomfortable space, and no working payment options. I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but this experience…. I felt I needed to share. 😆 I say, stay away from here. Even tho in the photos, the food...
Read moreThe indoor decor and outdoor seating/atmosphere were nice, and this place was recommended by our AirBnb host. However we found that the lady who served us was not helpful while we asked a question about a menu item, but we had chalked it up to language barrier. My partner’s croissant was cold and not warm or even room temperature when served. They served his food first so that I was sitting there waiting for my food which arrived after he had finished all his. I think it’s best when the food is served at the same time for those who are eating. The house juice (mango juice) was hardly “juice” - it was extremely watered down and tasted like water with a hint of mango flavour. They didn’t even bother informing us that their credit card machine was not working until I went to go pay for our food. Each of my complaint is trivial in isolation, but we didn’t enjoy our...
Read moreThis review is about our experience with the restaurant about two weeks ago. My family and myself arrived at the restaurant 1 hour before closing. The attendant said were not attending more people, thus we went to another restaurant near to it where they were very welcoming and gave us an excellent attention. While eating outside the other restaurant we noticed the attendant at Do Largo took more people for dining, as opposed to what they said to us that were not taking more orders. This was very disappointing, it was evident they did not want to receive us on their restaurant, maybe because we were a group of 9 or maybe due to other reason?? Nevertheless, they should have been honest instead of saying they were not attending more people for the afternoon. Gladly we were able to have a great dining experience at restaurant Kantu...
