The place itself is nice and the menu seemed interesting, so we decided to go there for dinner. However, as we ordered 2 glasses of a specific sparkling wine for a special occasion, we received another wine (much lower quality). After we asked the waiter to double checked, he admitted ‘he made a mistake’. I am allergic to wheat, so I ordered one of the 2 gluten free options on the menu, based on the allergen list (the cod with pistachio crust). As I ate, I started to doubt the crust, so I asked the waiter to re-assure me that it was - as indicated - Gluten free. It turned out it wasn’t! It was wheat and I can only let you imagine the horrible and painful night we had from there. The staff seemed completely un-educated about allergens and their importance. Or any respect to what’s indicated on their menu in any way. Definitely avoid this place if you’re celiac, allergic...

We made last minute reservations to eat here, the restaurant located in our hotel, not wanting to wander around looking for dinner after a late afternoon arrival. We were not disappointed.

Our server was knowledgeable and conscientious regarding gluten allergies.

I had the gnocchi with fresh vegetables. The vegetables were al dente, and the gnocchi was mixed in with the veggies on a bed of mashed potatoes. The veggies included many roots, which made for some tasty treats.

My wife had the salmon, which was gluten-free. She said it was tender and moist, also served on a bed of mashed potatoes.

Our sever made excellent recommendations for accompanying wines, and we finished the meal with port.

Na een tijdje wachten kregen we de kaart. Een drietal gerechten waren niet voorradig dat kan ik begrijpen maar iets als de kaart erg beperkt is. De voorgerechten, scampi's en schelpjes waren lekker, maar helaas niet erg warm en geserveerd op een koud bord. We maakten de ober hierop attent. Wat de hoofdschotel betreft, 3x zeebaars met risotto kunnen we niet tevreden. Bij 1 gerecht was de vis goed gebakken, maar de risotto lauw (geserveerd in een koud bord). Bij mijn vrouw was de vis onvoldoende gebakken , bijna rauw. Toen we dit melden aan de ober werd er voorgesteld om een nieuw bord te brengen. Gezellig tafelen is iets anders want als het nieuwe gerecht arriveert had de rest van het gezelschap al een tijdje zijn bord leeg. Daarna bestelden we aan de bar een fles rode wijn van Ervideira. Deze fles was veel te koud. De wijnfrigo stond blijkbaar op 12gr, terwijl je deze wijn normaal drinkt rond 16gr. Besluit: voor een gezellig en lekker etentje moet je niet hier zijn en het gebrek aan enthousiasme van het personeel draagt hier zeker niet toe bij. Gewoon...
