Tasca Torta — Restaurant in Óbidos

This is a really great place to have lunch while visiting the marvelous city of Óbidos. It a casual, harmful and very beautifully decorated (the toilet sink design and functioning is interesting. Tip: step-up to run water :D). It is not too big, so there is a limited number of tables but nothing to be nervous about.

About the food, it is sincerely very delicious and very well prepared. It is obvious that they take care about the dish organization and food preparation in order to give to the client a great experience starting right when you see the dish in front of you. I strongly suggest to taste the Cod Fish with a crunchy bread cover because it is a Portuguese tradition and also because it is simply delicious. During my whole travel throughout Portugal, this place gave me the best Cod Fish dish of all.

The staff is very nice and helpful but the waiting time can take a little long mainly if the place is full and if it is a week-day or a weekend-day but it is something definitely worth it.

P.S.: the salad that comes with the main dish is simply delicious. It brings really very fresh leaves and tomatoes, and it has a great sauce that makes everything even...

Been here on a Sunday evening and it was EXCELLENT. We had 3 courses: bread (you receive two different kind of breads) with olives and oil, main was the cod with corn bread topping (delicious! And you can choose 2 of ~5-6 sides), and for dessert we had some pear-compote and chocolate cake (it was more like some mousse au chocolate with some crispy biscuit!) - the combination of fruit and chocolate is awesome. Everything was really on point if not exceeded our expectations.

The service was really kind too, so we felt really taken care of well. Would always come back! The only thing is: they could really add some decoration to the tables....

Amazing homemade food. With vegetable options/emphasis. Hard to believe how good our veggie spaghetti was, lasagne with beef & spaghetti with beef & extra vegetables. Great hidden gem in Obidos! One of our best meals yet. Ordered an extra spaghetti & meat sauce to take away.homemade tomato sauce, wonderful flavors. Really a gem in Obidos. Especially if you want something creative and expanded on traditional Portuguese food. Go to the main tourist road. Turn right. It will be hidden on your left....
