This year for summer holidays we decided to go back to "our" Figueira da Foz. A place we know well for a long time and love the big avenue and the beach. The Eurostars hotel was our choice for this week and it was the first time there. It is on the center of the city, a few minutes to the casino, restaurants and the beach. If you like to go on a walk this is the right choice. At the arrival we needed to wait a bit for the check-in which I think it could be solved with more staff on the reception. Our room was very comfortable and big. It had two bathrooms, a bedroom and a living room but there are some points that needed some mantenance. We had to alert the reception because the shower was clogged and the other bathtub didn't have any protection available so it was impossible to have shower there without leaving water all over the place. But on the next day these two issues were resolved quickly after talking with the reception. The cleaning room service is the poor point of the review. In this kind of hotel the customer requires a high level of cleanliness. The bed was not well made in any of the days, they didn't vacuum the room just mopped it and the dust and hair were left there. I think this point should be really evaluated by the management. The breakfast is very rich with a good variety of food and options to everyone. A good experience regarding this section. The swimming-pool is interior and the air temperature was just too hot for us. We couldn't stay there for more than 2 minutes and we decided to go to the beach instead. The gym is very complete and all the machines are well preserved. It is located on the "rooftop" and has a nice view of the city. For these season (September) we were able to find a very good deal for our stay! Concluding it was a nice and well located hotel to stay with great views of the city and with a...
Read moreFor my wife’s Birthday I booked 2 nights in this supposedly 4* Hotel in a Sea view Deluxe Suite and supposedly the best-classed room in this Hotel, the Large Bedroom and Bed OK ..and a lounge room with a 2 seater settee , table and 2 chairs , mini fridge . A big room to be honest a big room not well thought out when built as wasted space as also a small TV for the size of room , you would need to drag the settee closer to the TV . Then a very small Bathroom that is so ridiculous to go with what is supposed to be a Deluxe Suite in a 4* Hotel with only enough room for one person at a time to be in it . Not only that on inspection we have never seen such a disgusting looking shower cubicle with so much Black dirty mould ( Pictures attached) also the silicon round the bath and shower cubicle must be the worst I have ever seen ever seen , in fact have never seen any shower cubicle as bad.. pictures attached . Showed the night manager the pictures on my phone , thinking the cleaners might clean it at least but no , just the same when we checked out … Breakfast not good either as all the food that was supposed to be hot was as near as cold or was cold , nothing was hot .. The Swimming Pool on the top floor we were going to use but when we went to look at it , the very strong smell of Chlorine was well overpowering, obviously way too much in it . So much my wife would not go close to it to look . All this in this review I would put down to bad Hotel management as it could be good and certainly no excuse for the state of our bathroom .. Although the staff we spoke to very friendly and a bottle of bubbly put in our room for my wife’s birthday, Thank you . but we will still certainly will not be returning to this hotel for...
Read moreThis hotel is an affront to money. We stayed one night and paid 340 € for a suite. I have no problem calling this hotel mismanaged — that’s clearly where many of the issues come from.
The good: • Room was very clean • Great view
The bad: • No hot water in the shower (only the bathtub worked) • Water kettle only works if you hold the lid down • Floor in terrible shape, coming apart and heavily scratched • Bathroom vanities rusted all over • Black silicone and rotting door frames • Breakfast layout is chaotic: long lines at every station (coffee, toaster, meats, etc.) • Pool requires a 4 € shower cap • Only one coffee packet in the room • No table service at breakfast — guests pile dirty plates on their tables • No chairs on the balcony • Only two lifts for the whole hotel — 3–5 min wait and always overcrowded
Subjective: • No high-quality breakfast items (no salmon, etc.); variety is okay but feels cheap • Suite felt mismatched, as if furnished with leftovers and lots of wasted space; only the bedroom looked nice • Only one room key for two guests — every other hotel would at least ask
Overall: Not a good experience, and we definitely won’t return. A fair price would be 60–80 € for a standard room, not 340 €...
