Expensive, ice cream close to melting, weird green thing in my coffee, bought 9 scoops of ice cream and was refused a taster of ice cream other than one flavour.
UPDATE: READ THEIR RESPONSE IF YOU THINK I'M LYING! TOTALLY UNREPENTANT, TOTALLY MISSING THE POINT...AVOID THIS CRAP HOLE! (No it wasn't an insect, it didn't get in the coffee from us being on the terrace, both coffees were identical, staff were poorly trained, and we would have walked away had we not paid beforehand).
Very odd place. Can only image very little repeat custom.
Required payment for all 9 scoops of ice cream and two coffees before serving - frankly had they not taken this we'd have left when they said my wife could only try one tiny sampler and didn't like it.
Then there's the coffee. One with froth, one without. We ordered and had to wait, we weren't even told it was ready for collection because they couldn't be bothered to take it to the table.
My wife's coffee had a weird green thing in it.
Discovered after drinking.
My ice cream was too warm, and was nearly dripping.
The cone was ok, but only a small cone for a double scoop ice-cream.
What was supposed to be a family treat was more like a slap in the face.
Order placed in Portuguese language, before anyone asks.
I wasn't even offered the chance to record my Tax number against a €30 transaction.
We're not going back, for ≈€30 I'd expect...
Read moreI recently visited the Emanha in Figueira da Foz, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. While there were some positive aspects, there were notable drawbacks as well.
Let's start with the positive: the ice cream itself was undeniably delicious. The quality and flavors offered are a testament to their commitment to delivering a good product in terms of taste.
However, my overall satisfaction was hindered by a couple of factors. Firstly, the service left much to be desired. It was not as attentive or friendly as one would expect when visiting an establishment like this. Prompt and courteous service can significantly enhance the overall impression of a place, and unfortunately, this was lacking.
My biggest concern was the pricing. I found the prices to be incredibly high, especially when compared to other gelato places in the area offering similar or even superior quality at significantly lower prices. This aspect was particularly disappointing as it made the overall experience feel overpriced and less accessible.
In conclusion, while the gelato at this place is indeed good, the service and pricing leave room for improvement. Given the availability of more budget-friendly options with comparable or better quality in the vicinity, I would recommend exploring other gelato places in Figueira da Foz before...
