City Stays Belém Apartments inundavel — Hotel in Lisbon

Wished my parents felt the way others had when they checked in- unfortunately there was a strong sewer smell when they entered the flat. Also inside the space was a bit sterile with only the bare basics though the decor from the window looked warm. The towels and sheets are low quality. There is a closet with a chest of drawers to put one’s clothing. Missing was a feeling of home- the walls are white, no decoration- feeling sterile. Also missing was the hospitality of a welcome with some basics. We chose this place for them based on seeing the apartment from the church yard and it’s proximity to our home. Okay, not perfect but worth it. We stay 3 days and the booking and checking was all done online and via phone, it was smooth and easy. The apartment is in a good location, (10 m walking to mosteiro dos jeronimos) close to a main tourist point and buses. There is even an ok supermarket 150 meters away. BUT.... the apartment was okay furniture, all essentials in the kitchen, there were a few repairs or damages visible but nothing off putting except the smell from one of the bathrooms that didn't improve during our stay.
