Local House Lisbon — Hotel in Lisbon

Amazing location, with everywhere easy to get to on foot. The hotel is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean with extra touches like the chocolate in the room and gorgeous wash products. Housekeeping noticed I needed an extra pillow and provided one before I even needed to ask - how wonderfully thoughtful. The beds were super comfy and the air-conditioning worked a treat. Check-in was easy, with good communication before hand.||So why only an 'average' rating? It would have been 5 stars had it not been for the noise. During the day the drilling/building work next door was horrendous. I know the owners can't control this. They could control whether or not they relayed this to guests who could then choose to cancel or continue their booking. During the night the front door was constantly banged shut into the early hours of the morning and the beautiful wooden stairs carried the bangs of heavy footed, weary guests. As there are no staff on site there's a kindly written request for guests to be quiet in the night...though after a few drinks people often, and unobliviously, become louder. I so wished things had been different, but a poor night's sleep on 3 consecutive nights does not a happy...

Pros perfect location right in the center of Lisbon very clean the staff is very friendly and they are going to help you with all of your needs

Cons the rooms are pretty small for 2 people in order to get to the last floor the stairs are pretty abrupt so be careful when caring your luggage no insects net, so you will end up with some small flies for the price you pay I think the rooms should be more spacious + the cleaning services should happen more often the Wi-Fi signal is very poor for the rooms at the first floor

Pros: communication with reception was good nice location, close to the city center but in a quiet street

Cons: rooms are very tiny there was no reception in case you needed physical assistance with anything (we communicated via email) there is no hairdryer in the bathrooms we selected a room with a balcony, but the balcony was a kind of space that had no view to the side, but only upwards, so basically there was no daylight in the room. This was not clear from the room description. every day while we were out, we had a visit from the maid to change the towels, which were only used once, and there was no 'do not disturb' sign to put...
