This review is not meant for locals, or even for Europeans. It is for self-proclaimed dumb Americans. So don't at me. I haven't tried all the pizza places in Portugal, but sometimes, you just need one totally decent experience in a blur of meh to bring out those 5 stars. . As a tourist from the US visiting Europe for the first time, I want good food. It doesn't have to be the most authentic, great great grandmother's recipe, but I am a dumb American and I want not dumb pizza. I fell for a couple places with menus that have beautiful pictures of pizza.. And a little note on each page warning that the pictures do not represent the dish. (elsewhere) I got a terrible Margherita pizza at a place with the fake menu pics. It came out a cheese pizza with dried basil on it and 4 slices of tomato. It had the texture of microwaved middle school lunch pizza. I felt embarrassed for thinking that just because Lisbon is closer to Italy than the states, that I could get pizza in Portugal. . . AND THEN I CAME HERE . I could be Lizzie McGuire singing about that pizza. It's what dreams are made of. . . Thank you for giving me a pizza I could proudly post on my Instagram, and write home about, and return for. It feels good to get "good pizza" checked off my list of things to do. . Keep up the good work yall

I was walking the streets of Lisbon looking for dinner after enjoying a Fado performance nearby. I glanced in the window here and noticed a nearly full restaurant and a giant pizza oven - two good signs that this would be a good place! The hostess was able to seat me right away. I suspect in the high season that wouldn’t be the case! I immediately ordered a drink, and a few minutes later was offered a bread basked with pesto. The bread isn’t free, but I accepted anyway because I was hungry and wanted to try it! After a few more minutes my pizza order was taken. While waiting I got to see nearly every pizza as it came out of the oven. Each one looked delicious! I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options. Eventually mine arrived, a Capriccio with olives and artichoke. It smelled and looked divine. It’s the kind of pizza with a super thin crust that you will likely need to eat with a knife and fork. But wow, was it ever good! Halfway through my pizza I’d finished my strawberry margarita (tasty!) and so I ordered a limoncello gin sour (phenomenal!) I left that night very full, buzzed, and happy. All the wait staff was friendly and spoke enough English that ordering was a breeze.

A very busy pizzeria serving pizzas made from good quality ingredients. You can modify your topping if you wish and the servers are happy to chat about what pizza you would enjoy the most. We got in via walk in, but had to wait around 30 mins, so I'd suggest you pre book. There's quite a bit of up selling which is an annoyance. We got asked 3 times if we wanted the bread and pesto starter, which we didn't. They then actually brought the starter to the table and asked again if we wanted it...we didn't, and sent it away The tomato sauce base is fresh and tasty, but makes for a slightly moist base to your pizza and makes it slightly doughy. Pizzas are big and you're charged €1 per takeaway box to take the rest home, which is the first time this has ever happened in any country I've travelled to. My advice...get a pizza between you unless you have a large appetite. Tap water in an unsealed restaurant branded bottle is also charged at €1.50, which is unnecessary when you're paying €100 for four pizzas and a drink each.

If you're a fan of authentic, mouth-watering pizza, Lisbon's M'Arrecreo is a must. This gem consistently delivers exceptional quality, with a dedication to flavour and craftsmanship evident in every bite. Whether you're a local or just passing through, the pizzas here are an unforgettable culinary experience.

Their signature M'Arrecreo pizza is a standout. It's a perfect blend of unique ingredients and expert preparation, making it a real highlight of the menu. Be sure to try it - you won't regret it!

Beyond the food, the ambience and service enhance the dining experience. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, making you feel welcome and ensuring your visit is enjoyable from start to finish. They strike the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, adding a personal touch to your meal.

The modern décor of the restaurant is another reason to visit. The space is thoughtfully designed with two distinct areas: one with an open kitchen where you can watch the pizza-making magic happen, and another with a chic bar for a more relaxed atmosphere. Both spaces are equally inviting, making M'Arrecreo a great place for anything from a casual dinner to a special night out.

In short, M'Arrecreo is a fantastic choice for pizza lovers and anyone looking for a great dining experience in Lisbon. With consistently delicious food, excellent service and a stylish ambience, it's a place you'll want to return to...

Had just landed in Lisbon and asked the front desk at the hotel for recommendations. My spouse was craving pizza. Without hesitation they recommended M'Arrecreo. We looked up for a reservation but the only time slot available was 10 pm. Decided to walk the 30 min or so anyways as it was still early (Lisbon standards). Luck was on our side, we got seated right away but they advised they needed the table at a certain time. We had lots of time to dine. The restaurant was busy but not totally full. Very comfortable atmosphere. Ordered bruschetta, caprese salad and a couple pizzas. The food was excellent. Also tried their version of sangria and it was one of the best versions we've had!

Service was spot on. Their entire team, service and back of house seems to work like a swiss watch. We were seated right in front of their kitchen where food was picked up and dishes dropped off.

Dishes dropped off were picked up right away, there was nothing left sitting. The guys in the kitchen were clearly well trained in the way they handled the food and equipment. The kitchen was also kept spotless.

They have a "house hot sauce" that is a must try.

Finished off dinner with their Panna Cotta - perfection.

Definitely...
