Areia Branca Youth Hostel — Hotel in Lourinhã

The building itself is dated, which is such a shame. But everyone that works there is so caring, loving and pleasant. They go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and happy. We felt so welcome.||||We got a private room facing the beach, which I was secretly hoping to get. I never closed my window (day or night) because of the sound of the waves and the view which was stunning.||||Breakfast was included. We could have bread/toast, a yorghurt, a juice and a hot drink. ||There isn't much but there is some parking space just beside the "Pousada".||||Within walking distance you can find cafés, restaurants, bars and supermarkets.||||We loved our stay and can't wait to...

I never ended up staying here, but instead stayed nearby. I did review their rooms though and they are for the very poor. The location is hard to beat, right on the beach. The service is very poor (and criminal?) They charged by credit card for the room (Euro 71 per night, about what I paid elsewhere) even though I cancelled well in time, and when I disputed it said that they did not charge me. Of course it was the holding company that facilitated the charge (movivem.pt) and they don't answer phone or email. Welcome to Visa dispute resolution. DO NOT take room 001 if you want to get any sleep. It's is directly next to reception with a thin door. Extremely loud until after midnight and from 6.30/ 7am. Loud talking, doors slamming, doorbell going. The staff seem to not care , they spent 15 mins playing with different doorbell tones at 07.45. Extremely annoying and inconsiderate.

Aside from that the place is general fairly pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful aside from example above.
