We were looking for a place to stay at Luso and found Vila Aurora. On the outside it's a beautiful palace, but you can already see that their gardens and swimming pools have been neglected and need urgent care.||We needed to call a number of a local hotel to be able to get someone to show us the house. ||Inside it is beautifully decorated, all in to the XIX style. But once again you can see that the house is in urgent need of TLC!! ||The rooms were ok, we had a family room. They were clean, but...more needs to be done, again!||During the afternoon we went for a walk in the Mata do Buçaco and returned after 9pm to the house, there was not a single light in the garden.||There is WiFi in the lounge.||Breakfast is at the hotel, apparently they are running the house as the owner isn't too well. ||It's such a shame as it is located in an amazing place and the house it self is...

Spacious room with a big bathroom albeit decorated in teh 1980s complete with turquoise bath set and floral tiles. The shower has to hand held and aimed carefully bit its all part of the charm. The view from our room's balcony was superb...but the view from the top of the Vila's tower was even nicier. The breakfast was good...bread, croissants, cheese, jams, tea, coffee, juice, eggs... The Vila has several rooms remembering us that it's a real ancient palace...a library, a music room with a piano, a living room with a fireplace... Very nice. It was a beautifull honeymoon, in a quiet ,...
