Flowers Downtown Porto — Hotel in Porto

The apartment is compact but has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The hosts provided a decanter of port and chocolates on your arrival and the place is immaculately clean. The bed is large and comfortable and the shower was hot and had good water pressure. The hosts live next door and encourage you to contact them if you need assistance. Although the room opens onto the street, there are large wooden ceiling-to-floor doors which close over the patio doors and eliminate noise. We only noticed a bit of pedestrian/ traffic noise in the morning but we were up at that point anyway so it was not an issue at all. The apartment has location in a quiet neighbourhood, five minutes walking distance to the iconic Clérigos Tower were you can find lots of cafes and restorants (expect to spend 5 euros for breakfast, 10 - for lunch or dinner, plus wine).

For the famous francesinha I'd suggest "Alfândega D'ouro", from were you can return to the apartment by the elevator after dinner. Fantastic discovery!

The apartment has no kitchen, but you don't want it with such rich Portuguese cousin anyway. Windows don't protect you from the voices of pedestrians, rumors of midnight garbage track etc, but the owner has prepared sleeping earbuds for you. Very kind of him.
