Lovely hostel! I would definitely stay again.

The location is very good, not far from the sights. The connection to public transport is not perfect (lots of buses but the metro is a bit farther away), but it is still very convenient to get around. The hostel is just in front of a cute park and close to the university. There are bakeries and restaurants around which are tasty and affordable.

Accessibility wise, the hostel has no elevator and is stairs heavy. The reception is already up two flights of stairs and the lowest rooms are at least two flights of stairs higher. But the staff were very accommodating to me, who had a sprained ankle: they were kind enough to change me to a lower private room the first two nights so I didn’t have to go up and down as much.

The staff were also extremely helpful and kind: carrying my luggage up and down stairs for me, giving me ice when required for my ankle. The quality of service was truly incredible. I wouldn’t recommend the hostel if you have mobility issues for obvious reasons, but I feel like the staff would go out of their way to accommodate any possible disability. I was even offered hiking sticks to help me go up and down the stairs!

The common facilities are very good with a bar at the reception and good and cheap alcohol. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean and you have the possibility of getting laundry washed and dried. The hostel is cute and well decorated.

I stayed in two different private rooms because of my ankle. The first one was facing the street and was spacious and very clean. Unfortunately it loses one star because the noise from students partying downstairs really affected my sleep. There was loud music every night, even on a Tuesday, until 2 or even 3am and I could have never fallen asleep without earplugs. I would not recommend this room if you are sensitive to noise at all.

In comparison, the private room I had the last day had a view to the roofs and was very quiet. I would definitely stay in that room again (without a sprained ankle)!

I want to especially thank Marina who helped me change my booking before I arrived so I could be more comfortable in the lower room! I was so thankful for her help. Among the staff, Matilde was also very friendly and helpful, giving great recommendations of what to do (like the gardens of the Palacio do Cristal). She also speaks great French! It was wonderful to have such kind staff and made a real difference.

The staff were so sweet here! Victor was very kind this hostel is located on a busy street with popular €1 shot bars surrounding it.that being said, I would not recommend to stay here if you don’t plan to party until 6 am. The noise outside on the street was excruciating-people screaming, breaking bottles, music blasting until the sun came up. The room was very hot (beginning of June) and the fan did not cool the entire room so the window had to be open all night- the sun came up before it became quiet enough to sleep, even with ear buds. The welcome wine was less than a shot of port-a welcome sip, not a welcome glass. We paid 10€ per load of laundry and our clothes were left in the washer overnight and when we received them they were wrinkly, mostly unfolded and smelled of mildew. The property was clean, however and the staff was friendly, and you can easily walk to most of the attractions in city center which is why I gave 3 stars.I unfortunately wouldn’t...

Loved this place. The people there are amazing and so accommodating. The only issue that presented itself staying here is the bars full of people that creates a loud roar until 3:30 in the morning. There is no AC so sleeping with the windows open is a must which then subjects you to the party outside. The wonderful staff provided us with a fan and honestly it kind of turned into white noise, but other people understandably had a hard time with it. Ear plugs are a must! As I said before everyone was super accommodating, provided great recommendations and they also made some lovely port cocktails!! The place is safe and spotless which is a huge plus when it comes to hostels in any city and centrally located where everything is super close and...

I love to travel and I've been to lots of hostels already but this one was definitely my favorite one! and the most beautiful! the location was just perfect, I was able to reach everything by foot! the only problem I had was getting into the hostel because I didn't know the door code, but that could've been a mistake from my side, maybe it was written somewhere or I don't know. The rest was just perfect, the staff was nice and they actually give you the wine they promise! the rooms were beautiful and clean and the view from my closed balcony was beautiful, especially at sunset! But bring your own lock with you for the lockers! I have nothing bad to say about this hostel. Obrigada! (pictures from the view)

I fell in love with this place : - great location : very central, 5min from the party street, everything can be reach by feet (Careful just next to a place where people have drinks so can be nosy on one side of the hostel) - super clean : the staff does an amazing job cleaning everyday - staff very helpful and nice - kitchen : clean, space for everyone - common areas : cheap & good drinks, perfect place to meet people and gather - comfortable rooms, bathroom big enough I would definitely come back to this one if I go back to Porto. Thank you everyone ! (From France :) )
