Formosa Oporto Apartments Group — Hotel in Porto

Honestly not the worst, as long as you temper your expectations.

We arrived late at night, used a code to access the front door (which is unmarked and difficult to find) and then another code to access the safe on the wall which had two keys - one for the suite, and one for our room. Our room was private, but shared a bathroom and a kitchenette with another room. There was a hot water maker, hot plate, sink, and some dishes.

Room did not have A/C but did have windows that opened and a fan which we were able to put in the open window and cool it off that way. We had made our reservation ahead of time on Booking.com and didn’t have any issues with payment that others have mentioned.

Worst part was the bathroom which was missing a shower door. Took an entire point off for this. It clearly was supposed to be there and was just missing.

Would stay here again for a quick turnaround cheap trip, but not for if we wanted to have a fancy...

ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! Do not stay here! We were woken up at 1am with repeated banging on the door by several men who barely spoke English claiming we didn't pay the €2/per city tax (which we already left in the safe, as instructed) and they wouldn't leave until we paid them more money. I went downstairs to the safe to check and the money we left was gone. The smell was very bad, the fridge had some old unknown substance in it and we ran out of toilet paper in the common toilet after 1 day and nobody was around to refill it. They're basically running an extortion scam on tourists in this whole building knowing they won't call the police or report it in, especially in the middle...

On the begining the accomodation looks quite ok. Simple, clean rooms etc. The owner gave us instructions about payment, to leave money in safe lock. So we left there 96 EUR as payment and locked it (video evidence). Next day, the money were gone, so she obviously collected it. Few days later, she charged us again from our card. Communication with her is 0.
