Recommended by multiple locals as the best of bifana in Porto, and was definitely not disappointed.
It was definitely busy upon entry but people were seated pretty quickly and the line kept moving. We elected to go stand at the bar instead of waiting for a table and that was the best locals only experience we can possibly imagine.
The staff behind the counter was extremely friendly, to the point they were hamming up for the camera for some of my shots. We ordered one bifana with cheese and one without, two small beers, and a calde Verde and the entire order what is less than 12 euros.
There is something in that sauce of which they cook the meat in. Our local friend is convinced that the vat of cooking liquid and oils is historic and parts of it remain from day to day. The meat is incredibly soft and tender and flavored from the broth with a slight tinge of spiciness. If you find the spice level not sufficient, there are bottles of piri piri oils at the counter for you to adjust accordingly. They will dunk your sandwich in the same cooking liquid so that it becomes a little bit of a mess, like a forced French dip. Do not resist it, and if you want ask for a little bit more if you want more flavor.
The staff there are incredibly friendly, and it's an incredible sight to see how happy they are to show their expertise, either in front of the vat of oil or stacking their plates on their body in an absolute superhuman way to deliver to the dining room.
The soup hot and hardy, and not particularly salty and you can adjust the salt level to your liking with the salt that is on the counter. We enjoyed the soup very much.

These bifanas were the best yet. They were extremely saucy, melting and tender. They had the perfect marinade, possessing significant tastes of; Garlic, Paprika, Cumin, bay leaf and Piri Piri. The cheese in these bifanas was bold and flavourful, similar to an aged cheddar, it went perfectly with the soft-juicy pork. The flavour was slightly spicy, rich and creamy, the bread was beautiful and fresh and we often had bits of sauce running down our wrists. Perfection.
The Francesinha had a beautifully rich sauce, noticeably a strong beer influence in the sauce. Instead of using steak, Conga utilised their famous Bifana pork meat in their francesinha. This soft, juicy, tender meat paired beautifully with the smokey ham and chorizo inside. There could have been more cheese used and the egg on top was fresh, fatty and perfectly runny.
Overall, this is a quality location for a delicious north Portuguese feed, with brilliant pork and perfected recipes....
