A Perfect Stay at Fonte Santa – Unforgettable Hospitality and Breathtaking Views!
My friends and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Fonte Santa Manor House from July 24th to 28th, and we genuinely could not have asked for a better experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the incredible views over the Porto river—a perfect backdrop for mornings with coffee and evenings watching the city lights.
What truly made our stay exceptional, though, were the people. Every member of the staff was genuinely kind, welcoming, and eager to go above and beyond to make us feel at home. Whether it was providing local recommendations, helping us organize activities, or simply checking in to see how our day was going, their warmth and attentiveness made all the difference.
A special mention must go to our last night: after hours, I had some food I wanted to prepare, and they kindly allowed me to use the kitchen, making sure I had everything I needed. That kind of thoughtful flexibility isn’t something you find everywhere, and it meant a lot.
The manor itself is beautifully restored, with a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Every corner of the house, from the gardens to the common areas, felt peaceful, cozy, and full of character.
We left with full hearts, and already miss this special place. If you're considering staying here—do it. Fonte Santa is a gem, and we can't...
Read moreWow! My stay at the Fonte Santa Manor is probably one of the best stays I’ve had in my life- and not just a bed and breakfast. ||The property is gorgeous and it feels like you’re staying in a beautiful and familiar family home. The staff was truly incredible, they were wonderful and kind- and very helpful to help me plan my short stay in Porto/ Vila Nova de Gaia. They were also truly beyond accommodating. We had a very early flight out and they made sure that my family and I had breakfast in the morning, which really came in handy. Oh and the breakfast is delicious. The breads were incredible. The rooms are beautiful, everything very new and beautiful and the bathroom is very nice. They didn’t have an iron for my clothes when I was there, but I was told they would be getting some. ||My only issue- and it was barely an issue was the key for the front gate. It can be difficult to learn to open and close. But once you do, it’s fine. ||The location is great. A short bit steep walk down to the waterfront- but be careful and watch for cars. Or you can take an Uber. It’s also very close to the stop for the bus tours. ||All in all,...
Read moreA hidden jem!!!! This building is like living in a wine estate, although truly cozy as your own home. The people that work there are more like friends rather than hosts in a hotel business and the owner is one of a kind person with amazing taste and deep knowledge of the town and the country. The rooms are big in space, well maintained and smart designed with top notch functionality. They serve made to measure breakfast according to your taste and they sell top Grahams port wine at the reception in amazing prices comparing to local shops. If you are lucky to find the Greenhouse room do not even have a second thought as it is super rare. Do not waste your time in the other side of the river in Central Porto, book here and you will be rewarded with that side of the region and this...
