It was an absolute pleasure to dine in at Dona Amelia tonight. Calling this restaurant a hidden gem is definitely an understatement because the quality of food and service was simply divine and going above and beyond. A well organised and well run restaurant that puts customers’ dining experience first.

From start to finish, every dish was cooked to perfection and well presented. The owners, even though don’t speak fluent English, explained each dish while serving them to your plate. The sardines and bacalhau were simply taste of heaven! Homemade desserts, coffee and limoncello shots were served.

Absolute pleasure dining here, real service and amazing food all in one! We’d been struggling to really find a place in Portugal that would show us the true flavours and nature of the country before we found this place.

Despite not speaking English, with broken words here and there and a little Spanish along the way, we were treated with care and provided an experience like no other. Walked through each menu item, suggested the best combinations and even given best next stops for Port wine in Gaia, I’d definitely be back here and would suggest to anyone who wants to experience best in service...

Abbiamo mangiato costine di maiale, pollo panato, patatine, riso, cibo fresco e cucinato perfettamente. Il vino verde della casa assolutamente da provare! Caffè buono come in Italia e amaro della casa preparato dal proprietario. Tutto squisito! We had pork ribs, breaded chicken, fries, fresh and perfectly cooked food. The house green wine is an absolute must-try! Coffee as good as in Italy and a house-made digestif prepared by the owner. Everything was delicious!
