Ramees was great when checking us in so late in the night upon arrival - really friendly, welcoming, and genuinely did his best to make us comfortable. On the day we arrived, we commented on how beautiful the chandelier was in the foyer but stated how much better it would be if it was switched on. Thereafter, it was on every evening, and it was gorgeous! Gave the place a lovely, luxiorus feel. ✅️ Marshmallow cookies at the cafe are 😋 ✅️Great location near the museums, souq and the corniche too.
We had to complain about three things: ❌️ If you stay in a normal/regular room on lower floors, you are supplied with one bath sheet, but in a suite on the upper floors, you receive two ❓️ ❌️ Toilet roll is frequently checked and replaced in a suite on upper floors but less so in normal/regular rooms on lower floors. In addition, we became unwell and felt so uncomfortable having to ask for toilet paper and eventually complain❓️ ❌️ Housekeeping and service are generally absolutely spot on for those on the upper floors in suites but not on lower floors ❓️
Areas to develop:
❌️Consistency in service - shouldn't matter which floor you are on, how much you pay, who you are, if you are confident to complain, or anything else - service should be universally outstanding. Please ensure all front facing staff and business support staff - cleaners, housekeeping, etc. are all re-trained.
❌️ ALL staff need refresher training on basic customer service skills at the front desk. The males are brilliant, but one particular lady was awful - no expression, no manners, and no desire to provide service with a smile despite knowing we were staying for 15 days. This was off-putting. Cultures and languages may differ, but basic employability skills are universal - greet customers, listen attentively, and ask questions if you're unsure. This isn't asking for much.
❌️ Phone etiquette - When you call the front desk or housekeeping, they do not greet you. They hear you out and put the phone down. E.g I asked for a hairdryer on day one over the phone as there was not one available in the room. The call handler said "OK" What does that mean? Am I getting one? Should I wait, or should I go out? We waited 45 mins before asking again.
❌️ The Best Western Hotel over the road is APPALLING. They have late night parties that cause traffic tailbacks and horning throughout the night from around midnight up to Fajr. We found it annoying as we ended up being moved to a suite to escape the noise. Whilst Gloria's is not accountable for this , be aware.
❌️There are no shower screens, so water goes everywhere.
I must emphasise that Imad was excellent addressing our concerns immediately and upgraded us without hesitation to rectify our concerns. For this reason, I would recommend this hotel - they WANT to do what is right by their customers. There are still fair points to develop, but it was a...
Read moreI am making this review of this Hotel for everyone will be aware!|We did our 1st Doha Qatar Vacation as Family last July 8-10, 2025, just recently.|We booked this hotel for what we think we can be more relax and situated to most of the fascinating tourist spots of Qatar.||We do our early check-in and greeted uhmm actually not greeted nicely by their rude Filipina Receptionist. We understand that they have more booking since some Indonesians were stranded and booked to their hotel but the thing is she is rude and feels like we cannot afford to pay for early check in.||We were tired from long travel by land from KSA to Qatar so we took are things and shoes to relax since we are waiting for our car to fix as well since it got some issues from long travel.||At night we went outside to have our dinner somewhere near wearing our slippers since it is night and just nearby, but before we left, we informed and complained the receptionist on duty that the AC is not cooling and need to fix,. We came back and ask them to check the AC which they did and confirmed that it is not working and have some issues, even the technician cleaned the filter inside the washroom on our room.(unprofessional thing) so we requested to be transferred to another room which they did. When we are transferring to another room they assigned we forgot my son's limited edition sketcher shoes in the room which we do not realized immediately until morning when we have to go to our trip/tour.||We immediately reported that we have this missing shoe that we are sure it is just in the previous room., we left the hotel for the tour, later that night we came to reception to ask for an update but then nobody endorse our complaint to the night duty receptionist so we start from the beginning which we expect we can have peace of mind when we return from the tour.||Instead they sent their housekeeping team and security maybe in our room and requested to check our things and the room if we are really telling truth. Even I offered to inspect our car since they seems not believing, they found nothing at all and just insisted that nothing left in the room. We showed our photos and videos taken from the time we checked-in and the moment we left for the dinner which shows we are all wearing shoes when we check in and slippers when we had our dinner.||How could a shoes which we are sure just in the room got lost and never been found by the staff. much more is when we are vacating the room, immediately their staff went inside the room to tidy it up. This shoes is really special for my kid that is why we value this thing much.||We stayed though we are really devastated and disappointed on our stay. We intend to extend our stay with them but since this incident happened we just decided to leave and book another hotel just to find peace and not to ruin our Qatar trip and also to give our son some assurance that he can still be happy even we cannot find his beloved shoes.||Note : |1. They do not have enough parking|2. Rude Receptionist|3. Your Belongings are not safe so make sure you will not leave any valuables inside your room.|4. You have to request everything from them even from toothbrush, towel, vanity, among others|5. They do not have manager on duty||I can commend the F&B staff for their hospitality, we even said our goodbye to them since they are only one show concerns to us that time during our...
Read moreThe hotel review is a mixed bag. While my initial expectations were high upon booking, numerous issues surfaced during my stay.
Good: ◦ Begin your stay with a warm welcome and refreshing welcome drinks. ◦ Immerse yourself in the modern and captivating aesthetic of the building, resembling one of the finest hotels you've ever encountered. ◦ Revel in the luxury of three pools, featuring an enchanting infinity pool. ◦ Pamper yourself at the spa, maintain your fitness at the gym, and unwind in the inviting jacuzzi. ◦ Retreat to a spacious and immaculately clean room, complemented by regular housekeeping services. ◦ Enjoy the exclusive access to a private beach for a tranquil escape. ◦ Start your day with a delightful breakfast buffet. ◦ Dine in style at the huge and spacious dining area, adding to the overall grandeur of your experience. ◦ Benefit from the convenience of currency exchange services conveniently located near the reception.
Bad: ◦ Access to the jacuzzi is contingent on paying for the spa services. ◦ Utilize the gym at an additional cost. ◦ Find a decent variety of food, although it falls short of being truly exceptional. ◦ Encounter subpar service; requested an iron, had to remind three times, and it arrived two hours later. ◦ Endure non-functional AC with promises of a technician's arrival unfulfilled, making sleep impossible in the heat. ◦ In a surprising oversight for a 5-star hotel, there's no fan available upon request. ◦ Note that service quality is heavily influenced by tipping, with some staff displaying rudeness and preferential treatment. ◦ Discover stale desserts, indicating prolonged reuse. ◦ Attempt to request evening milk for tea and face being ignored, with staff retreating to the kitchen. ◦ Despite multiple coffee machines during breakfast, they consistently produce subpar,...
