2021 update: The good: tall, memorable communist era building, with an awsome view over the city and the Danube, from the top floors; clean, decent furnished rooms; kind & helpful staff; free working wi-fi & private parking; quality breakfast; decent priced; The bad: small rooms with no balcony and minor problems (shower leakage); continental breakfast, though good, lacks in variey and quantity; Previous review (2019): The good: the 12th floor deluxe suite is large enough, clean, well furnished; heating worked great; amazing view of the city & Danube; helpful staff; free wi-fi and private parking; The bad: no balcony; cold light in the room; scarce toiletries; poor continental breakfast (although buffet was promised);

Ultra central location with a panoramic view of the city, restaurant and confectionery 2 minutes away, parking space and 5 minutes walk from the wonderful public garden of Braila. The hotel bears the stamp of the communist period which can be found in the reception, lobby and hotel restaurant. The rooms have been modernised, the carpeting and the bathrooms have been redone. Free WiFi. Personally ok

I stayed here one night, on a work trip, but despite the central positioning, nothing impressed me. The bathroom door didn't close correctly, even locked. Old furniture in the room, old tv, few power outlets. An old and small elevator, the second one was still under renovation. Sad to see such a central landmark go to waste as the days go by.

They need to renew a few employees starting with the blonde receptionist with glasses and ending with the room service cleaning, as they have a lot of thieves, SO, BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR VALUED BELONGINGS IN ONE WEEK, THEY MANAGED TO STEAL MY CAR KEYS, A SHIRT, AND THE BLANKET OFF THE BED...HAHAHA, ADDING UP TO ALL THIS YOU HAVE THE GYPSIES CHILDREN'S BEGGING FOR 1 LEU AAMONG WITH THEIR MAMMA ,WAITING FOR YOU IN THE HOTEL PAKING EVERY TIME YOU GO OUT OF THE HOTEL, IF YOU TAKE A SHOWER TOWELS ARE CLEAN, BUT LEAVE THE WATER RUNNING A WHILE AS THE FIRST 10-15 MIN COMES OUT WITH A BROWN COLOR PERHAPS DUE TO THE OLD PIPES !!!!! OR BOILER!!!!! AT LEAST THATS WHAT I HOPE .... DO NOT OPEN THE MINI REFRIGERATOR DO NOT TRY TO USE IT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR NOSE FUNCTIONS, IT STINKS !!!!! AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE THE ROOM YOU WILL HAVE SOMEONE LOOKING THROUGH YOUR STUFF, ZERO CONFIDENCE, ZERO PRIVACY, ZERO SECURITY, BUT YOU GOT...

Well, after a 30 minutes call with the "reservation department" in Timisoara, where "every important negotiation" takes placs (such a lost of time!), I was expecting to be met by the Communist management in Braila with lees hopitality, which, in fact, actually happened |The same poorly preserved 2-3 people elevator, old furniture and "grand"design details since 1979. Like most of the personnel....|The breakfast is almost inexistent and I had the "privilege" to meet the general manager who noticed I dared to offer a cup of coffee from the expressor, during the breakfast hours, to one of my daily guests (yes, we also booked the entire 12th floor for 3 days) and immediatelycalled the waiter to charge it on my room number.|Such lack of hospitality I've never seen in (dark) ages, so AVOID...
