Let's start with the positive aspects, unfortunately there are fewer:||- The hotel is very close to the beach, maybe a 3-minute walk.|- It is renovated and looks very good now; the lobby, the facade, the rooms are all quite modern|- Every room has a balcony|- The air conditioning is very good|- The windows isolate the noise from the nearby clubs quite well|- They have a bar that opens quite early for any... hydration needs|- A decent sized parking lot||And now to the negatives.|There is so much to say here... So let's get started:||- The most upsetting aspect of all was the staff, at almost every level. The first contact was with a blonde lady at the reception, who welcomed us with a superior attitude, handing us a fill in form at check-in. We were asked for information such as: place of birth, date of birth, bulletin series and number, residence address, etc. I asked her what that form was for, considering that it was the first time I received it, in Romania or anywhere outside Romania where I stayed at a hotel. The young lady replied that it was a form that had to be filled out, and that she had also traveled outside of Romania (there was already a competition regarding who traveled more). I asked her what the mandatory information was, because I didn't feel comfortable providing them all (the majority of them not being in any way relevant to our stay there). She told us: everything, and very obfuscating, that if it's not ok for us, she can call the hotel manager for us to talk to her. I told her yes, and with wide eyes she asked to make sure I didn't say it by mistake or something, and called her. The lady in charge of management explained to us that it is a frequent procedure for hotels on the beach and which are the mandatory and non-mandatory sections. That ended the situation, but we started our vacation quite irritated, of course.|- We entered the room and found sand and dirt under the bed, hair on the floor in the bathroom and a false eyelash in the shower. We didn't need any of them, I don't think they were part of the welcome package.|- The elevator in the hotel had a personality, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, sometimes it went somewhere else. We didn't enjoy his personality, we would have liked him to be more boring but to work as an elevator works.|- Regarding the parking lot, we barely found a place. Although the hotel was clearly not at a high degree of occupancy, obviously (because there was no barrier) not only those staying at the hotel were parking there. If we arrived a few hours later, we would have to pay for parking elsewhere.|- We stayed there from Thursday to Monday. It was only on Sunday morning that we happened to meet the lady who is in charge of cleaning, and she remembered that maybe it would be good to stop by our place. I asked her how often the towels are changed and she told us every 2 days. Our mathematics said otherwise, but what can you do. Indeed, we found it clean when we returned, but to change the towels every 3 days, considering that it is a hotel by the sea, seemed like a lot to us.|- We didn't even have a sign to hang on the door, so that we could indicate whether or not we wanted them to enter the room. The neighbors next to us did. Maybe they didn't like us after the first interaction, who knows...|-On the last day, we asked them for another shower towel, they told us with eyes as big as on the first day, from the reception, that it is not possible. Is it really that complicated to offer another towel? Apparently yes.|-Before we left, I told them at the reception that we were not satisfied with the way the staff behaved. Not only did they not ask us what happened, but they told us with a fake sad face that they were sorry, while they turned to the other people behind us who were waiting in line at the reception. Empathy 0, customer service still 0, patience just as much.|-Only on the last day did we manage to get the bill for the stay, although the lady promised us that it would be ready the day after check-in (we stayed...
Read moreThe hotel has been recently renovated. The rooms, although quite small, look modern and nice. The beds are comfortable. Our room was on the oposite side from the sea and it was not noisy. However, if you get a room with a sea view, there is a big night club just in front of the hotel, so it can get pretty noisy.|Unfortunately for this hotel, things are still done "the romanian way". It is too bad because you can tell some money were invested here and, on the inside, it looks nice. When we arrived, there were peanuts on the floor from the previous guests, the ashtray on the balcony was full, there was a coffee cup on the floor, etc. How can this happen when a room is supposed to be clean ? We stayed for 2 nights and during our stay no one cleaned our room, we did not receive any clean towels nor any shower gel (we finished what they provided from the first day). We just wanted to spend a nice weekend here but paying 100 EUR per night for these services is simply stupid. I am wondering what will happen to this resort (Mamaia) in the future as people start to realise it makes a lot more sense to spend their money for a lot better services in Greece or even in Bulgaria. I am romanian and would really prefer to spend my money in my country but reality is that we still have a lot to learn about tourism. We are light years behind while prices are almost at the same level with Western...
Empatie 0, customer service tot 0, rabdare cam tot pe-acolo. -Abia in ultima zi am reusit sa luam factura pentru sedere, desi domnisoara ne-a promis ca va fi gata cu o zi dupa check-in (am...
