It's important to note that on maps, there is no distinction between the stay and the restaurant. Despite the satisfactory stay, the lackluster restaurant experience significantly impacted my overall impression. With an average rating of 3 out of 5 stars, I will explain my rating below.
Stay: 4 out of 5 stars The stay at this location was good, but it didn't quite live up to its advertised value. Despite being offered at a discounted rate from Booking.com, the original price tag around 600 RON suggested a certain level of quality that was not entirely met. While the room was clean, cozy, and warm, it lacked some basic amenities such as shampoo, and the pillows were not to my personal liking. However, there were soap bars and shower gel provided.
Restaurant: 2 out of 5 stars Unfortunately, the restaurant experience was extremely disappointing. On two separate occasions, the food failed to impress. For dinner, I ordered a chicken salad described as "fresh salad with breast chicken crust and lemon and honey dressing." However, the reality fell far short of expectations. The salad consisted of bagged lettuce that was dry and lacked seasoning, with an underwhelming mayonnaise dressing. The salad was really sad looking, not worth the price at all. I felt like I had been fooled because the description was really fancy and the salad was a couple dry leaves straight out of a supermarket bag and some half tomato cherries. Breakfast was an even greater letdown. Arriving at 9:30, we found that there were few eggs and vegetables left, and non in stock to replenish. While the staff member overseeing the location was polite and helpful, it didn't make up for the disappointing quality...

In a nutshell it was dissapointing, we read such good reviews and as opposed to most other restaurants it has a good overall grade.
The entree of shrimp was tasty but the amount of shrimp was too little, we had about 6 maximum 7 at most medium shrimps lost in the tomatoes.
My partner and I both took meat with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes in both cases, one simple one with truffle was let’s say rustic, it didn’t had much to do with a puree and was dry and lumpy. We do it much better at home.
The argentinian steak was properly prepared but the turkey was a bit stringy and the white sauce that went with it was not tasty and I at least, missed the mushrooms in it.
The chocolate mousse dessert was in total antithesis with the concept of a mousse as it had the consistency of a rock, or more accurately of a chocolate truffle compossition.
The waiter was excellent though, considerate, polite, charming and we heard him speak several languages.
We also asked for a few changes to the dishes and were readily acommodated, which we appreciated.
The place itself is nicely decorated, clean and elegant but overall it recommends itself higher than it delivers unfortunately.
In Sighisoara, as the touristical attraction it is, the food is mostly subpar everywhere which in my opinion explains why the Joseph Haydn restaurant has such good reviews because by comparison their underwhelming and overpriced food appears a lot...

The service was "ok" (but not great) the food and wine were the big disappointment. The wine selection was poor, and the first wine we tried had gone wrong. The second option left (other wines in the menu were out of stock) was plain bad.
I had the duck, which unfortunately was poorly cooked. Instead of easily breaking away from the bone, it stuck to it, had a tough consistency, making it a bit rough and very dry. Taste was OK, but not great. It came with a pear reduced in wine, which was hard and a bit green.
My wife had the goulash, which was a bit bland. However, it came with a nice spicy pepper, which improved things for it.
Overall, it's not a particularly bad experience at all, but it's definitely not a great one.
I had great expectations due to its high rating on Google reviews, which were definitely not met.
My advice would be to try someplace else. I also tried the restaurant across the street (krauss), which was miles ahead dancing circles around this restaurant in both taste and presentation. Albeit Casa Krauss across the street was a bit more expensive (but not by much), it's definitely a better place to spend your evening. I did not try another restaurant in this town, but if I had to do it again, o would risk going...
