Pension am Schneiderturm — Hotel in Sighișoara

Stayed at this wonderful guest house attached to the bastion walls and one of the towers of medieval Sighisoara! Soren, managing the house greeted us very early as we had made good time from Brasov. He showed us to our accomodation immediately and offered us a complimentary breakfast! However, before we did so he urged us to remove our vehicle from within the citadel's walls or suffer a fine. Siren had sent instructions as there is a barrier attendant restricting access at the foot of the citadel hill. Argue we did as instructed, and got a surly 10 minutes! Siren pointed out free parking some 3 minutes walk away down/up flight of stairs. The guest house is crushed against the walls, which affordeds the reception a gothic atmospheric ambience! The rooms are very pleasant, spacious and typically Germanic. Wooden floors and ceilings, spacious bathroom - clean and tidy! Breakfast served downstairs in an arched cloister style room was magnificent! Soren, gave us several tips and suggestions for our trip which were heeded and made our stay very pleasant indeed. We had one of the most unique experiences in a completely appropriate error room in the citadel of Sighişoara! ||This bed-and-breakfast was very convenient to get to, and within walking distance of the entire town, and all the best sites and locations in old town city store! ||Our host was exceptionally friendly and very helpful, parking was convenient and offloading in the citadel was easy with our luggage – the courtyard entryway he is a perfect reflection of the character of the medieval town, and the room was small, the character and layout was unique, and the walls and courtyard gave you a complete idea of what it would’ve been like to live in a small castle space 800 years ago - definitely one of our return locations the next time we’re in this incredible town!||Check out the room pictures! Probably the best place to stay in Sighisoara. Very friendly reception with a glass of tsuica and a coffee. Extremely helpful and kind owner (Sorin) who speaks fluent English and German. I had a small but nice single room with a private bathroom, desk, tv and hairdryer. Noisy big dog nearby. (It is Romania, isn't it?) Very good breakfast buffet with good music and all kind of specialities (15 kinds of local cheese, self-produced blueberry yoghurt, elderflower lemonade, applejuice from the orchard of Prince Charles in Malankrov, self-baked bread, fresh fruit).
