On short, it's not worth the money. The fee is exaggerated for what they actually offer.
The exterior, reception and the halls look great, a good reminder of the style and aesthetics from the beginning of the XXth century.
However: The rooms are not quite cosy, a bit crowded and haven't been reconditioned in some time. For the price they ask for a double room (100 Euros), it is unacceptable to find balls of dust on the floor, next to the top of the bed, the door of the dresser to fall down or the bathroom door not to close properly, with a scratched and battered ratchet. The light on the dark, small hall at the entrance could only be turned on from the switch at the top of the bed (having to step in the dark to find it).
At the "Luxury" restaurant (as it stood written with golden letter above the entrance), the plates for breakfast were either in plastic or of such a worn out porcelain, that they looked dirty. The chairs were also made of golden colored plastic. Those made out of wood had the tapestry worn out and hanging. The table cloths were so long, they "dusted" the floor and curled around the feet whenever I set down or got up, risking to drag down everything on the table.
I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that the room fee did not include access to the hotel's pool and sauna. I had to pay an extra 10 Euros per entrance. When I went, the saunas were not turned on, although there were already people in the spa area. I had to go back to the reception, in my bathing suit, to ask for someone to turn them on. At some point, that same person asked me if I still intended to use the sauna because she wanted to turn it off. At that point there were still other people in the pool who might have used the saunas and the entire "spa" was supposed to run for another 3 hours or so.
Either from the excellent position in the central park, next to the Casino and the exterior and hallways design, it does not justify in any measure the fees...
Read moreExpensive vacation in a 4-star hotel The hotel is quite nice, the room was large but clean at first, after only the trash was taken out, the room was not cleaned. The room had no air conditioning, no kettle or coffee maker like other 4-star hotels. Just the name 4 stars actually makes it a minus 3-star hotel. In the morning at 7 am on Sunday 17.08.2025 the music was at its maximum so you wake up whether you want it or not and after 15 minutes someone probably noticed and turned it down. The breakfast does not look 4 stars, at least 3 with indulgence. I do not recommend it because the quality does not reflect the price asked for the room. A disappointment for a lot of money and ZERO service. Maybe someone will notice and measures will be taken to re-evaluate it in view of the stars. The view from the so-called balcony is gorgeous with a view of the park and the mountain but also the noise from the road because the balcony doors are old and don't close properly. In the bathroom they only change the towels, not the bathrobes, there are no ear buds and the soap and shower gel are bad, there is no body cream. The so-called pool is 1 m 20 cm deep and very small and the jacuzzi doesn't work and you have to look for the cleaning woman to let it go because she closes it and then you wait for your money and time. At the pool the floor is wet because this cleaning woman doesn't wipe it and it is very slippery. Total disappointment. This is the first and last time I will stay in this hotel. 1450/ 3 nights.Internet it ZERO TOO.|Prices are like outside and the comfort and services are...
Read moreIn February my husband, my daughter, and I visited the hotel palace. The only issue we faced was that there was no hot water after 7 PM. The restaurant is good, and the food is excellent.
We especially want to mention our experience at the pool. There’s a Sri Lankan young girl working there—she is extremely friendly and keeps the area very clean. She was there on the first day we went to the pool. She spoke with us very kindly and did her job really well. Our daughter, who is 4 years old, really liked her.
On the second day, there was a Romanian lady at the pool instead. She was somewhat older and quite rude. The jacuzzi hadn’t been cleaned—not even mopped, at the very least. The Sri Lankan lady had told us that smoking is not allowed inside the pool area. But this Romanian woman smokes inside her room. That day, we didn’t use the jacuzzi. We stayed in the pool for just a few minutes and then left. We weren’t even offered the extra amenities at the pool.
On the third day, we went to the pool again, hoping the Sri Lankan girl would be there. Fortunately, she was. She is so kind and friendly. I wrote this in English because I want her to be able to read it. She doesn’t understand Romanian very well. Her name is Ritu. If you’re visiting, try to go on a day when she’s working because on other days, the jacuzzi...
