Regal Hotel — Hotel in Sinaia

We booked a apartment for two nights for 1000 ron.||We called prior to ask a room not on the ground floor, once arrived they said that our type of room is available only at ground floor. We made a upgrade with 50% more on the original price. So we asked to see one room, receptionist seemed upset about our request, refused to offer us a room at higher floors saying the rooms are not available. Was a Sunday evening with three cars in the entrance, other receptionist confirmed later that they had free rooms- I guess the lady was not in the mood to help us.||After check in we found huge amount of ants in the kitchen infesting our baby dishes,(picture was done after we removed everything we could catch) dirty walls which were like that from some time, water leak in the bathroom. The hotel does not have a restaurant so we ordered in room dining, selection is a comunist joke of a breakfast- eggs, ham, cheese, jam, juice and coffee. ||On check out we informed receptionist about our issues, funny or not, the ants exterminator just entered the hotel and heard our discussion so decided to join, saying that it is a known problem and they will use chemical substances. In a couple of minutes the lobby started to smell badly afer those chemicals were used in other rooms. My complained remained without anu answer, the receptionis was happy that our discussion was heard by the cleaning lady!!!!! ||I will not tell anyone how to run their business, but this a total lack of respect for the guests paying 100 euros a night with complaint not listened by a manager, lack of profesional management and prices matching 5 star hotels but with no basic conditions. All the 5 star reviews that this property has, do not reflect the price/quality.. you can get a higher standard quality/services in other hotels outside Romania for the same price. You must understand that the money should reflect the quality. You should understand that this is not a cheap 3star Hotel.

First of all, the property is overrated. 2 - The hotel is only for apartaments.. normally it should be written something like " Apart Hotel Regal" but it isn't and you expect standard Hotel services. 3 - They do not have a restaurant. 4 - The breakfast is continental and you must pay for it. Breakfast is served only in the room which sometimes is good. 5 - They don't have a welcome tea or coffee to drink in the room for the price you pay. You must ask at the reception and pay extra for a tea bag. 6 - They don't have slippers in the room. 7- It was nice to have a pool or jacuzzi to worth the price that you paid. 8 - When you have a kitchen, my wife thinks that it is mandatory to have also at least a towel. While preparing the breakfast and washing the dishes she went several times to the bathroom to wipe her hands with toilet paper or face towels.

The overall score should be 3 stars, but I'll give 2 because is overrated.

Final conclusion: European prices for "Romanian" services. Sad but true, unfortunately we don't know how to make tourism with good...

What a pleasant surprise… we only booked this place because was the best option in Sinaia for pet friendly and we wanted to Take our Dog with us. Everything was just perfect. Room/suite Incredible big and nice. Well maintained, beautiful view, nice breakfast. Staff very attentive and polite. The only negative aspect was the fact that the parking was completely left asidue. Snow of half meter high. Almost NON of the care could drive up the hill, except mine one 💪😉.
