I stayed in the hotel for 3 weeks. I really liked the place and the location - the staff was friendly and the bathrooms exeptionally clean and well-made. Everything was pretty new and well-kept. Room service was superb, maybe even too polite on some occasions. I had a small room far down the corridor. It was a bit claustrophobic, but nice. It had a TV which seems rather useless to me but, I guess, allows to charge more for the room so it's fine.
Easier to elaborate on what I did not like: I left for the day and left the window slightly ajar and by the time I came back the room service had been there and closed the window, and it was super stuffy in there. They also kept moving the trashbin under the table, it got annoying after a while, like, what is your problem, it's not even usable if it's hidden under there. Oh well. But they were extremely polite otherwise so that beats it all.
Why I took off two stars: that one day they called the room and said that I have to pay extra for the couple breakfasts that my guest has shared with me a couple days before. I did have a guest come over for breakfast a couple times and I totally took advantage of that no one stopped us, that is true, and, my bad. But look: one of their arguments was that they had many guests staying at the time but every single time I came in for breakfast it was 15 mins before end time and every time they had a ton of leftovers - this reasoning was so, so petty. I was starting to get annoyed with their logic right there and then. They said that they "had noticed" that someone was having breakfast with me for a couple days and yet they seemingly haven't noticed that I skipped like a week worth of breakfasts by then. So, like, you guys saved up a week's worth of breakfasts from a customer, seeing that it matters how much is left by the end time, huh? So okay, I asked how much I owe them. The manager said that let's say that it is 500 rub per breakfast. I said that this is really expensive for a bowl of cheap oatmeal and two eggs. The manager kept her cool but the receptionist started looking at me with full-on disgust from then on. That particular receptionist stopped greeting me back from that day on, which I find very cute. I have ditched proper check-out because who knows what they would have done, this being set in Mother Russia, if I told them I was not going to pay extra due to the unprofessional handling of the issue. Let's face the facts - I stayed for 3 weeks, paid over $1k upfront, in low season, haven't bothered them at all, - what's up with that attitude? Next time in town I'll have to stay somewhere else, luckily there's no shortage of...
Read moreI have no major complaints about this hotel but it can surely be improved a lot.|1) response during booking and clarifications on questions were prompt and to the point.|2) rates are reasonable |3) has asked them to send a pick up to the Moskowsky station. The guy was right infront of the coach with our names. But the car was a small 5 door car like a Suzuki swift. Our two huge suitcases were difficult to fit in and we had to keep it on the seat with my wife and daughter packed on top and around it. When they knew we are international travellers they should have expected more luggage and sent a bigger car.|4) checkin was smooth but can be painful as there is only one desk. Unluckily we had three other guests checking in at the same time. We had no issues as we were the first but am sure the others would not have liked it. |5) while checking in I had said our return flight was at 23:55 pm so we may need the room till 8:00 pm. We were told that room is booked but they can give another room but as it is till 8:00 pm we have to pay for the full day. They will let us know on that day the rate etc.|6) we had booked a larger room as we’re a family of three. We were not happy with the room as we were coming in from Kempinski Moscow to here so there is a difference. We know we should not be comparing so did not complain |7) restaurants, banks and money changers are nearby so not an issue |8) one tiny water bottle is given the day you check in. So you need to buy more water from the Pearls super market nearby.|9) the restaurant was good enough for a breakfast which was repetitive every day with very little change.|10) last day I went and checked on the other room and the rate and tried to negotiate if we can pay just half the rate or free but nothing was accepted. We had to pay the full rate and moved to a standard room. Infact we liked the standard room more than the larger room we were put up with. This room is as new and had fresh green color.||All said a good place but nothing great. Of course the staff of the hotel is very nice...
Read moreWe stayed 12 nights at this hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is very clean and updated. Our bed was comfortable and we had nice hot water in a very good shower. The best part though was how friendly the staff were. The young ladies at the front desk took such great care of us, from the initial check in when they warmly welcomed us, to arranging our departure for 3 a.m. They helped us get a taxi to the ballet at the last minute and arranged a massage for me at a great place that they helped me find. In addition, they arranged for lunch boxes for us on the occasions that we had to depart before breakfast for day trips. We thought the breakfast was wonderful! A great selection of cereals, meat, eggs, cheese, pastries (you must try the blinis), and juices. For us the location was perfect. It is off of the street which meant it was quiet and it was within walking distance of the metro and several bus lines. There are also a great variety of restaurants and a perfect little grocery store at the corner where we picked up odds and ends, and wine. We were sad to leave and look forward to our next visit! Thanks to everyone there for...
