Upon arrival, we felt as if we were expected and made to feel welcome and check-in was pleasant and quick. By co-incidence, Anastasiya was on duty at reception and she made us feel valued guests and most sincerely welcome. Anastasiya had been most helpful over several months prior to our arrival, when assisting with my inquiries to the hotel regarding transport to Kazan and without her help in going beyond her duties, we probably would not have got to visit the wonderful city of Kazan for 4 nights. Throughout our stay she and all reception staff were friendly, polite, found the time to greet us as we walked past and were extremely helpful.||||Confirming other reviewers, the hotel is in a great central location and close to everything. The hotel appeared to have had hard use as it was “rough around the edges” and could do with some renovation. The bed was comfortable. During our stay, we had cold weather ( it snowed with temps of 2C ) but there was no heating in the room turned on ( apparently by the city authorities ) or enough portable heaters available for guests. The room was cold. Ibis policy on complimentary water only for new arrivals became an issue ( 4 night stay ) when we asked for some water for our room. Breakfast was OK – it was plain and adequate. Clearing of tables was slow. Security staff highly visible was comforting. Ibis preferred taxis very reasonably priced and punctual. Hotel looked dark at nigh-time from outside and ibis sign not very visible.||||This ibis hotel, relative to other ibis and Accor hotels in other cities of Russia is not one of the better hotels and it is a little expensive by comparison. Within walking distance of Tukay Square & the metro station plus the pedestrianised streets where the Tourist Info office is situated.We were checked in by an extremely helpul gentleman who's name I have unfortunately forgotten. We wanted to use local transport rather than the tourist Hop on/Hop off bus and he provided us with helpful accurate information.The only downside to our stay was that one evening there was some type of folk event in the restaurant that was so loud the reception staff were unable to hear us when we tried to speak to them.
