I stayed here for eight nights. First impression of this hotel was that it was very nice, with friendly helpful staff. The room was big and there was coffee and tea provided – as you would expect in a 4* hotel.
But as the week unfolded, the cracks started to show. For instance, the bathroom shower door wouldn’t close which meant there was water all over the bathroom floor. I spoke to reception who sent someone to fix it, but the next day it was as if nothing had changed. Having a shower while trying to hold the door shut is not my idea of fun. They offered to change my room, but then discovered that they were totally full and there were no other rooms available.
The air conditioning was very, very cold and it seemed impossible to change the temperature with the broken controller. The water in the bathroom was at best tepid. I heard someone else complain to reception that her shower water was very cold and that her a/c was also freezing, so this would appear to be a common problem.
You’d think in a 4* business hotel you would have real cups in the room rather than the paper cups provided. But no… on the 6th day real cups appeared, albeit that one was cracked and the tea ended up all over the floor.
Again, you would expect in a “business hotel” that international visitors would be catered for. Most of the guests were international, yet there was only one electric socket in the room that you could plug in a US-style/euro-style plug and that was as far away from the writing desk as you could possibly arrange. I would imagine that very few of the first-time visitors had brought British-style adapters with them.
The bathroom supplies were at best erratic. Body lotion (offered in all hotels in Riyadh as the humidity level is so very low) was provided only on days 4 and 7. A shower loofah only on days 3, 6 and 7. “Dental kit” was offered on some days but not others.
Biggest disappointment was the restaurant which only had packets of Nescafe served in paper cups; there was no pita bread to go with the humus on day 1 and no fruit at all until day 3; there was no butter at all on days 2, 3 and 4; but on day 5 with no fruit again there was a different staff member. I asked “no fruit”? He replied “you want fruit? I get!” And 5 mins later I had a plate full of excellent honeydew melon. I pushed my luck… “No butter again?” “You want butter… I get”. And 10 mins later he appeared with some butter straight out of the freezer (ie unspreadable but good to have again!).
So to sum up, a perfectly good hotel was ruined by the total lack of attention to detail and the widely-prevalent “that’s-good-enough” attitude. Sad. I wouldn’t...

The good: Location is excellent, only few steps away from metro station. Room is large.
The bad: #1. Hygiene standards are non existent. Every layer of linens on the bed was covered in hair and stains, including the undersheet. First I called them to change the linens. It took more than 30 minutes for them to send someone and do complete linen change. At which point I saw how bad everything was and requested room change. The second room had exactly the same problem. Clearly they don't have minimum hygiene standards in laundry and housekeeping. Housekeeper that came to change the linens was putting the pillows on the floor (if the bed is that dirty, imagine the carpet...). See pictures of the dirty sheets attached.
#2. No refundable and you have to pay in advance by bank transfer. So I could not leave that horrible mess without losing the whole amount I paid for 3 nights.
#3. Reception pretty clueless about customer service. Abdulaziz did his best, but the check in reception actually tried to charge me for the full amount which I had already paid in transfer. It was clear in their system but she couldn't see. If I wasn't paying attention, I would have paid double because of her mistake!
#4 the room is kind of run down, not surprising. Toilet seat was broken, and shower drain smells bad. Shower stall is very small and the whole bathroom is small. Hot water ran out in 10 min in the shower. Bathroom floods when the shower is on
#5 the WiFi is not high speed, I couldn't stream anything above 720p quality without lagging. Definitely not good if you're staying here for business
This hotel cannot be 4 star, at best 2 to 3 stars with the number of issues. Price to quality is very overvalued and not worth it. If you like the location, there's a bunch of holiday inns just nearby in the same price range and plenty of other...
Read moreMy company reserved a room for me for 1 month in Mira business hotel and Unfortunately the room that i was in the Air condition was broken by my bad luck where i had to stay like this for 2 days because the rooms were full as the reception mentioned to me. Also the main thing that made me really super upset and mad is that when the maintanance came to fix my room while i was not inside at the morning and they left while the doors are wide open for everyone can see inside and anyone can steel my personal stuff and my passport, the direct reception manager she helped with this issue and upgraded my room , but however this matter should not be taken easily and they need to give their staffs and employees more training services to be improved.
Another thing i still faced with the room services is that even though i put on my door for ((NO disturbance - DND)) and yet again the room services never respects that because i think they have a daily target to achieve and thats how i felt from them.
And finally the breakfast one time i went in the morning around 9am where the entire food was very cold and surprisingly the mash-potato was rotten ( bad ) uneatable.
I strongly urge Mira hotel management to improve their staff and their services if they want to continue their business.
Thank you &...
