A surprisingly superb new hotel in downtown Riyadh. Stayed here for a few days on a work trip. Wasn’t entirely convinced by the name but the website looked good.
Check in was superb. The reception staff here are clearly very well trained and happy to be there. All entrance staff were top-notch - from the door team to the cafe. You often get surly welcomes in this city - not here. They’re great.
The rooms are incredible - a really great surprise. They’re all very large, very new, spectacularly clean, suite style rooms. The design is very pleasing on the eye - a great aesthetic. The beds are huge and comfortable - I slept very well. There’s the latest tech throughout and it all works great - from the lighting and curtain control to the “please wait a minute” button in the bathroom (apparently for when the doorbell rings and you need more time). The rooms have Toto Japanese toilets which is a GREAT addition - very smart.
Super shower - awesome bath - excellent toilettries. One observation was that you don’t need to wait at all for hot water from the tap - it’s instant.
Breakfast was superb. The Mezzanine restaurant is large and spacious, but comfortable too. Again, the staff here make it so great. The options are wide and varied - and the quality of food was impeccable. Worth getting up a little earlier to experience it.
Great location - right across the road from Faisaliyah Tower - easy and quick access to Ubers etc.
I think I must have stayed during a soft launch period as I noticed a few minor teething issues. The gym/spa floor isn’t ready yet - definitely in the middle of construction. However, you can use the gym and facilities at the nearby Narcissus hotel - this one’s sister property. It’s only a 7 minute walk away. Also, the elevators can be a bit tricky - some of the button panels don’t work properly yet - and you often need to get room keys reset at reception to get access to you floor. Not big problems though and handled well by staff.
Definitely a great addition to Riyadh’s growing hotel scene - and one that I’d love to...
Read moreJust wrapped up my stay at Narcissus The Royal Riyadh — and honestly, it’s a beautiful, modern, and super clean hotel. The overall ambiance is elegant, and the rooms are spacious and well-kept. Breakfast deserves a special mention — absolutely delicious! But I do feel the buffet could be better organized. It would be more convenient if related items were grouped together — like keeping the oatmeal and toppings nearby, or having the crepe station and Nutella/jams in the same area. Smoked salmon felt a bit lost in its own corner 😄 One thing I missed was the evening turndown service that many 5-star hotels offer — the little touches before bedtime. Also, no decaf coffee available, which was surprising for a hotel of this level. It sometimes felt like departments weren’t fully in sync. One area that really needs improvement is the booking process. You can’t book directly on their website, and the call center couldn’t connect with the hotel. We had to call multiple times before we could finally confirm our booking — not ideal for a luxury property. A big shoutout to Karan from housekeeping — incredibly professional, consistent, and kind. I mentioned once that I prefer the room to be cleaned at 9:30 AM, and every single day, he was there right on time. That kind of attentiveness makes a big differenc Still, I’m giving it 5 stars because the overall experience was lovely, and the areas I mentioned are more suggestions for improvement than deal-breakers. With a few tweaks, this hotel could easily be the best in Riyadh. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and a...
