Unfortunately, one of the worst experiences in Koper. We've ordered pasta bolognese which was prepared with liver meat (the smell and taste was extremely strong) and not with the minced beef. No parmesan and almost without any spices to mask the liverish taste... The price of this fake pasta bolognese was astonishing 12€!
Apart from that, what surprised me even more was a lemonade. I think it was the most expensive lemonade I've ever drank. The 0.1L of lemonade is 1.9€, so for a half liter of lemonade you ought to pay amazing 9.5€! I guess that they're importing lemon from Madagascar because there is no other logical explanation for such prices. At the end of the dinner which was only half eaten, our bill was 62€ (two pastas and two lemonades). There were no pricelists on the menu, neither on the tables so this was pretty much shocking.
Last but not the least, no one took our complaints about the quality of pasta seriously. We were just vaguely told that they will forward our comment to the chef... One of the waiters, who wasn't even serving us, got a bit fiery because commented terrible service and food. Guys there obviously do not know the etiquette or are underpaid and they just slack off. Poorly managed alltoghether.
To sum up, you won't miss anything if you walk by this place and eat at the restaurant/pizzeria which looks less fancy and probably has a...
Read moreOn social media, Pizzeria Caprizza looks like a dream. Beautiful photos, glossy pizzas and an impression of authentic Italian quality. Unfortunately, reality served us something quite different.
I ordered the Scorpio Pizza (San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, Campana Fior di Latte D.O.P. mozzarella, nduja, guanciale, cooked prosciutto, sun-dried tomato, sour cream, boiled egg, basil). Sounds spectacular, right? Sadly, what arrived was a cold pizza with tomatoes that tasted nothing like San Marzano, a rubbery egg, and, despite being listed, no sour cream in sight. The “cooked prosciutto” turned out to be just a few minuscule specks of some undefined meat product. Definitely not what the menu promised.
My girlfriend had the gnocchi in chicken stew. The gnocchi themselves were fine, but the stew contained exactly three tiny cubes of chicken, each about 1x1x1 cm. At 19 EUR, I suppose that was already an act of extreme generosity. Any more chicken and the dish might have actually lived up to its name, and we wouldn’t want that.
All in all, Caprizza’s food is Instagram-friendly, but if you’re going there for flavor, authenticity, or value, prepare to be...
Read moreWe had a great experience at Caprizza pizza restaurant! Located within the Grand Koper Hotel but open to everyone, it's a fantastic spot for a casual meal.
The service was incredibly friendly, and even with a full terrace, our pizzas arrived quickly. The pizzas themselves were a good size for one person and absolutely bursting with flavor. We loved the fun touch of naming the pizzas after zodiac signs, and it's great that they offer vegan options too. Plus, dining on the terrace provides a lovely view over the promenade and Koper harbor. We highly recommend Caprizza for a delicious and...
