M&B Backpackers Accommodation — Hotel in Bo-Kaap

06mar25: I checked out today after my stay of three days at this Accommodation/Lodging. I stayed in another hotel prior for most of my almost three week vacation for a group vacation, and I wanted to see more of Cape Town City Centre so I decided this place.

This lodging is much more for backpack travelers than long-stay (I have stayed in similar Guesthouse or Hostel Lodging in my past/years ago in different States and countries). Also, this is not a quiet place.

Besides that, the customer service is wonderful, and helpful! The laundry service is decent and a reasonable price, but a few of my clothes when returned to me had a white residue on it like the dryer's plastic was burnt to a few of my casual clothes. I had a private room which was a comfortable size (see photos) and also reasonable price. The walls are thin, and you can hear what is consistently occurring in the surrounding City Centre as well as throughout this Accommodation.

If you want a much more quiet place, I recommend to look for another Lodging/Hotel. But if you want to socialize and see the City Centre more, I recommend this Lodging because its location is walkable to many restaurants and stores/markets. It's not wheelchair accessible, this Lodging is on the top floor of the building so have to walk stairs. The front door to the building is locked for security,...

Don’t recommend, no place to cook, you will have to buy food and eat out, or eat in, dorms are strictly boys or girls dorms, shower bathrooms don’t smell the greatest, they not really aware of who’s coming and going who’s left etc ,general uncleanliness( not speaking about the guests) dorm beds don’t get made, bedding doesn’t get changed frequently, they will just put the same bedding on for new guest lol, no really safe parking, they kept overbooking...

I was treated like a dog in that bnb they made me pay extra money that was not in the website and still made me share a bed with someone , I visited one of my friends on the next room they found me there they said f**n get out saying that’s not my room and the place is noisy and smelling the management is the one that will be making noise they disrespectful to clients...
