Firstly I would like to most certainly note the positive aspects of our stay: The property itself is fantastic, with great views, modern furnishings and indoor/garage parking. It's well-maintained and quiet lending an air of luxury to the garden suite which we stayed in. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely spacious and dinner & breakfast was very good. This is what we would expect is on offer at a high end establishment at the heart of Camps Bay. Brilliant in this regard. We were however, disappointed with the service we received, which wasn't in line with other 5-star experiences, both internationally and locally. My wife and I are very well travelled and have a good idea of what we would expect of a 5-star experience , and in a city like our home here in Cape Town, we should be bench marking this establishment against the best of the best amongst boutique hotels. We found staff rather unwelcoming and unfortunately not professional. We kindly requested a late check-out (if possible - even if it’s for a hour later) and we were told '10 is 10' (the request was not taken by staff to the manager either). We were also told at check-in that there'd be a turn-down service in the evening which didn't happen, as after we had gotten back to our room, I had gone back upstairs and we had to ask for this to be done. The response to this was that the other lady on duty should have done it, indicating poor communication. This was done after the request was made after I had gone up to ask for it, which should not be the case at a 5 star establishment. We were also not asked how the stay was when checking out (by the staff or the Assistant Manager that was apparently on duty - did not see him during the morning), which we do expect of a 5-star establishment having stayed elsewhere in Cape Town, and having travelled to just over 25 other countries outside of South Africa. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with excellent facilities in a great location, that may not be reaching its full potential due to the service of the staff. We got the feeling that the staff were a bit out of their depth. Also a point to note for the owners of the establishment, was that this was communicated directly to the manager at the establishment the day after our check out via email before I did the review, out of courtesy and giving them a chance to explain, and to this day I have not received any feedback on the matter. Further reiterating the disappointment in their service.

The concept of this hotel is very unique, as it is situated in a villa with only a few rooms, providing an intimate atmosphere. The modern and neat design adds to its charm. The room was spacious, meticulously cleaned, and featured a large shower and bath area, great amenities and a terrace. The view from the hotel and the Garden Suite are beautiful (direct view to Table Mountain and ocean). The service is excellent. The laundry (one load per day), bottled water and snacks available at the reception are complimentary 👌🏼 However, the location is quite remote, with no restaurants or coffee shops nearby, necessitating the use of a car. The breakfast/dinner offered is very average, consisting of a limited à la carte menu. Additionally, the AC doesn’t function in the room and there was a leakage with shower door. Furthermore, the swimming pool is unheated and quite small but has a stunning view over the bay 🌊

My recent stay at Living Hotel Lions Eye in Camps Bay was truly memorable. Waking up to those stunning views was an absolute treat. The apartment itself was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with all the necessary amenities. The modern, fully equipped kitchen was a standout, especially with the added convenience of an ice maker and air fryer. The air conditioning was a welcome relief on warmer days, and the free WiFi had an excellent signal, perfect for staying connected. We also really appreciated the secure parking for our rental car. The housekeeping staff at Living Hotel Lions Eye were always friendly, efficient, and ready to assist. Evenings were well spent enjoying the streaming channels on the flat-screen TV. I couldn't fault this place and would highly recommend Living Hotel Lions Eye to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay in Camps Bay.

MONEY STOLEN by the hotel staff! And we are not the only ones, scroll down and you'll see a similar story in the reviews. Plus we saw another proof that the same situation happened right before we came (we saw text messages between the manager and a cleaning lady)!

I don't leave any bad reviews but in this case I feel like I have to warn everyone to think twice and be very cautious if you choose to stay at this hotel!

To be fair, the view is amazing! Rooms are small but clean. Everything would be great and the hotel would definitely have gotten a 5 star review if we didn't have this situation.

On the very first day when we check in (Garden suite) we found out that our safe box was not working which we reported right away to the hotel staff (Anna). The very next morning my husband and I were working in the hotel living room and when we went downstairs to change to go for lunch we found out that all our money were STOLEN. We assume that it was someone from the hotel as the room was "very thoughtfully" key-locked after this happened which is impossible if you don't have the key to the room. Plus we were right there, 20 steps away from the room.

When we reported that the incident happened to the hotel manager, we were told that he trusts his staff (which is good) and he will initiate the investigation. We asked the hotel management to resolve it somehow by at least returning us a half of what we lost or give us some kind of a refund - you know, something to make us feel better as it is a normal customer service practice. We were told we can't prove that we even had this money (??!!WHAT??!) and asked not to leave any reviews before the investigation is done. No need to tell you that we never heard any word from them since then. This was our very first day of a 2 week trip, we lost all the cash we had.

Very disappointing! Please, be careful while staying there and choose a...

We had a wonderful stay at the Living Hotel Lion's Eye.||Our room was lovely. We stayed in the Atlantic room and had an amazing view of the sea and Camps Bay area. You could see the view from the shower and bath too which was cool. The rooms were well looked after and had good facilities.||The hotel itself was also fantastic - breakfast was great with lots of choice. There is an lovely lounge area with an honesty bar which is really nice to have and then food is available from 12 - 9. We had the Phili Cheese steak sandwich which was AMAZING. Definitely do plan to have a meal here if you can!||The trip was part of our honeymoon and the staff made us feel so special. They decorated our room and gave us some treats. It really added to our stay.||The best bit for me was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Kalin in particular was so accommodating to us and really looked after us. Calvin also helped make our stay extra special. It's a small hotel so the staff really look after you well.||The hotel itself is a short walk to Camps Bay and close to the tourist hot spots so great from that perspective too. Definitely stay here if you're...
