Learn moreI give two instead of only one star because our waiter did a really good job and because they tried to fix their mess
2.We decided spontaneously to have the new year Dinner menu because of the vibe.
But the food was an disaster...850 Rand per person and the food was the worst i ever had in cape town the last 5 years... The starter were fine but we ordered the burger sliders and the fillet...the burger slider were tiny and made out of 90% bread and veeeeeery little meat and the fillet looked and was dry (what a shame for SA where the meat is always amazing) and the potato wedges were actually potato sliced. When we asked they said thats how they made them today and its not the normal hard rock menu ...
At least my mum and i got a „real“ burger as an excuse and it was ok...my das who had the same sliders but didn’t complain got nothing as an apology...
After we complained i never saw the mini slider burgers served atany table BUT plates with 3 BIG burgers per person...really? Some kind of joke??? Why didn’t we get them but now everyone else...
The dessert should have been spring rolls mascarpone and chocolate with ice cream...the ice cream was already melted and more like a soup and inside the spring rolls you could search everywhere but i couldn’t find any chocolate and the taste was really bad so wie didn’t eat them...
The wine had cork and when we tried to explain a manager came (everytime we complained the manager came like we have to explain ourselves and that we are wrong or something)
Also what i didnt like that they put in 10% tip and we HAD to pay them, after all this mess up and this terrible food they force you to tip them...that’s is unbelievable
At the beginning was good live music and everyone was nice...otherwise they‘ll never see us again. Been to many hard rocks all over the world but this one is just bad...And way too small...i don’t know why you open up a new hard rock at such a tiny space
We payed for the afterparty but we were so disappointed that we left early and didn’t care about the money that was wasted...instead we went home and had a nice new...
Read moreWhat a horrible and scary experience we had at Hardrock Cafe Cape Town(Camps Bay) all because of this lady below.
When we initially arrived we had a lovely welcome from 2 waiters. The person I was with indicated that they needed to smoke hub so we needed an area that allowed that. The guy said they had a reserved table outside ,but we would move when the people came.
This was not an issue. Maybe after sitting for 5 minutes ,the lady below(Tanya) came shouting from inside the restaurant saying what is wrong with us? What is this and then rudely said we must leave her table ,her people are coming. As we were trying to explain what was said she just kept yelling and we could not get a word in. We asked her to call the people that said we can sit there and she yelled ,putting her hands in our faces ,that she will not do that,we must just move.
Eventually the guy who said we can sit there came and said we must stay put ,they will sort it out. So we sat. She caused so much commotion ,drawing attention to us ,pacing up and down and putting her hand in our faces.
The manager and 2 colleagues came to try calm her down and speak to us. She kept yelling and would not listen to anyone. I went to speak to her alone to explain to her that she can not treat us like that. She can not be rude to us and that there is a way to talk to people. It just triggered her even more and she lost it. No one could get her to calm down.
Eventually we sat and were helped by someone else and her colleagues ended up apologising on her behalf. Telling us this is how she is.
This is unacceptable, how can a toxic person continue to work with people to the point that it is “understood” that this is her behaviour. The restaurant should do something about her before it turns ugly because her aggression could one day trigger the wrong person who will not hesitate to meet her with the same energy.
If you want your peace ,I’d say stay away from the place until she’s gone! She’s bad for customers, her colleagues and the...

My wife and I went to The Hard Rock Café in Camps Bay yesterday for the first time. She (and I) loves her music and has always wanted to go to The Hard Rock Café for a “70s rock musical” experience. What a disappointment it turned out to be.
There was no rock music of any kind heard in the time we were there. The only sound we heard was that of a British football commentator coming out of a speaker right next to where we were seated. You would expect the TV screens to be showing rock music videos but instead we were forced to watch inane English Premier League football. I could go to my local pub for this.
To us this was a sports bar with some rock 'n roll memorabilia on the walls. For the exorbitant prices charged, you can at least live up to your name of “Hard Rock Café". It should be an “experience driven” restaurant but instead it was just like any other place we had ever been to. There is absolutely no reason for us ever to go back again.
When music was eventually played at the front of the restaurant, it was “ethic African fusion” type music, totally unrelated to “rock music" in every way possible.
The only redeeming feature was the burger, which was very good, but for R245, you would expect it to be so.
Initially, you got a 2 out 10 rating, but the burger brough it up to 3 out of 10, which is still a fail.
Management needs to re-examine why the restaurant is called “The Hard Rock Café”. We experienced no “hard rock” at all.
Hard Rock by name, not by nature.
