I hope you are well. I would like to provide feedback regarding our recent stay at No. 20 On The Beach Guesthouse on April 1, 2025.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to several issues with the accommodation: • The tiles in the shower were loose, lifting, and some were missing. • The water pressure was extremely low, making it nearly impossible to shower. • The room had a strong damp smell, and the bedding also carried a damp odor. • The windows did not open or close properly. • The sliding door was very difficult to open and close.

One of the main reasons we chose your guesthouse was its advertised pet-friendly status. However, there was no suitable grass area for our dogs, making it very inconvenient. We had to take them across the road late at night or keep them on a leash throughout the day, which is not what they are accustomed to. There was also no secure area for them to roam freely.

While we originally booked for three nights, we had to cut our stay short due to unforeseen work circumstances. However, when we discussed this with you, you informed us that refunds were not an option. Given the issues with the accommodation and the fact that we paid in advance for nights we did not stay, we believe it would have been fair to receive at least a partial refund.

We appreciate that you asked for a review, and while we do not take leaving negative feedback lightly, our experience did not meet expectations. Due to the combination of maintenance issues, misleading pet-friendly advertising, and the lack of flexibility regarding our shortened stay, we would not recommend this accommodation to others.

I had a truly disappointing experience with this accommodation and ultimately ended up not staying there. Here are the reasons why:

1.Misleading Photos: The place did not match the pictures on the website at all. It was clear that the photos were old, showcasing a time when the property was still well maintained. The current state was far from what we expected.

2.Unpleasant Odors: Upon arrival, we were hit with a musty smell in the rooms that seemed like mold. It was not only uncomfortable but also concerning for our health.

3.Unsafe Parking: The parking situation was alarming. There was no access control, meaning we had to leave our vehicle parked outside and out of sight. This felt very unsafe, especially with our belongings inside.

4.Dirty Swimming Pool: The swimming pool looked neglected and dirty. It was definitely not the relaxing spot we had hoped to enjoy.

5.Barking Dog: There was a huge dog on the property that barked constantly, creating a frightening atmosphere, particularly for the children in our group. It added to the overall stress of the situation.

6.Terrible Customer Service: When we expressed our concerns and asked for a refund of our upfront payment, the owner refused and became aggressive, swearing at us and demanding we leave the property. This was completely unacceptable and further soured our experience.

I cannot recommend this accommodation based on our experience. Save yourself the trouble and look for a place that values its guests and maintains a safe and pleasant...

Do not stay here, it's not worth the amount charged. I wish I could do this on bookings.com but they wanted me to book privately. Probably 1 of the worst experiences I had.

Problems we encountered Musty room smell which took a day to reduce, no windows, just a sliding door and you can't keep this open as some people leave their dogs off leash ( I was told the dogs staying are on leash so mine would be safe )

Aircon remote didn't work, owner promised another but when I asked the next day, they never responded.

TV remote did not work

Dstv remote was not working till they replaced batteries

Cleaners were in the unit without our knowledge when we left and when we returned, there was a strong urine smell and a dirty looking torn mat was put into the bathroom.

Power kept tripping every morning and if this happened while in shower, water disappeared

Towel rail was rusted and kept falling off

Bathroom tap in sink was broken and had nearly zero pressure

No access controlled parking, you have to share with public if they visit the beach or visited the coffee shop attached to building

There were ants and cockroaches in the unit

Floor was sticky

Wifi was 1- 0 bars

I wanted to leave within the first 10 minutes but with it being Christmas - I couldn't find a replacement.
