Musgrave Avenue Guest Lodge — Hotel in Musgrave

I was supposed to check in at 14h00, but my room wasn’t ready and I had to wait at reception with the door wide open, wind blowing through, and no effort made to make me comfortable. I was told the delay was because the previous guests hadn’t checked out, but that’s not an excuse. By the time I did check in,under the bed and inside the drawers was dirty. On top of that, the complimentary breakfast they offered me as an apology was also served late.

We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are well put together, comfortable and tasteful. The area is quiet which certainly ensures one good sleep. However, the kitchen had several minor details short of a self-catering unit. The pots were overused so which meant we could not use them to cook. We were not provided with adequate cleaning materials and supplies. The electrical plugs in the kitchen(which were coming out of its socket) and in the bedroom were hazardous. We drink coffee in the mornings which was not replenished each day. There were not enough mugs or glasses to use except those provided...

My wife booked the duplex for her parents over Youth Day weekend. We experienced very poor service: no one was there to meet us when we came in in the evening. No one answered their phones in spite of the meeting time being arranged previously. Eventually the domestic worker came out with a key. The bed was uncomfortable, Both the toilet and the shower leaked.
