Read moreI used the disability bathroom next to Panarotis on the 6th January 2025 at around 1.40pm because there is often no toilet paper and sanitizer in local bathrooms including this mall. Just before using the toilet a security bangs the door aggressively, so I come out. He shouts at me to use the men's bathroom. I comply. Once I am in the men's bathroom there's no paper and it's dirty. He doesn't leave me alone. He calls me crazy ,flashes his baton, and says he will show me outside. He and his colleague continue to follow me then grab me aggressively, almost tear my pants, throw my umbrella thereby damaging it and by being aggressive crack my phone screen because when they attempted to throw me down the stairs my bag fell. Also they were pushing and shoving me. It was raining and I had sandals. I was lucky not to slip and incur serious injuries. It was a clear case of unjust discrimination and brutality/hate crime. Thompson security did not immediately approach their employees in question nor did they look at the footage with me. They called me the next day and said they agree that it was unjust and they gave their employees a last warning. Iasked that they be terminated and I told Mr Elvis at Thompson security about the damages. Just a warning for such a violation isn't acceptable. I opened up a case but was not taken seriously by the berea police department opposite the Botanic Gardens.A person should have security at a mall but the security violate innocent people. Using a cleaner functional bathroom even thought it's a disability one in South Africa isn't the biggest of fence one could commit. Thompson security and their employees should focus on real criminals. Their security often stare at me, demand that I greet them and ask them how they are if I ask for directions. The employee should greet others if he wants bu I must not be lectured on respect. They have no service delivery attitude or basic human decency. Going to this mall is...
Read moreHad the most frustrating experience today at Musgrave Center.
Firstly, the parking layout is shocking. It’s confusing to me and I’ve been driving to Musgrave for about 5 years now but only once every few months for my dentist appointments etc.
Secondly, it seems that the security is not great either.
I paid R7 for my parking ticket at the Woolworths pay station, walked to my car and realized I must have forgotten my parking ticket as I couldn’t find it once in the car. I quickly (within 3 minutes +-) went back to the pay station where there was no security guards hovering around… and did not find my parking ticket. I assume at this point that it was picked up by somebody else? However, I did pay and decided to drive to the exit and explain this to the help line people at the boom gate. Unfortunately they were not very helpful or understanding and advised that I would need to pay R45 for another ticket. Their attitude was not in any way pleasant which quite frankly frustrated me and put me into a bad mood.
I then tried to locate the information desk or parking office (I did not know these are different places entirely). Spent about 20 mins walking around up and down and around the mall trying to find the parking office.
Signage is terrible FYI, for the parking office. The only sign I saw saying parking office was exactly above/next to the actual parking office on one dodgy corner of the 4th floor parking lot.
Eventually I found this office and the elderly man was also not in any way pleasant either or understanding and eventually I paid a total of R52 to exit the parking. Apparently they cannot access cameras to verify that I had paid already.
All in all, a terrible and frustrating experience.
It would have been nice if 1. The staff were pleasant and somewhat understanding 2. They were proactive enough to try and see/verify that I was not making this up and did...
