I was in Polokwane for a wedding and found Mosate Lodge on Booking.com (the locals pronounce it Moshate).|I arrived from the airport around 7 PM. |I was expecting their restaurant to be open but they were about to close and had not prepared any food. Receptionist was kind enough to give me options of restaurants in the area that delivered. And 40 minutes later I had a meal. There is a TV in the top right corner of the room (a bit too far up if you want to sit on the bed) with dstv and most channels you would want to watch. In addition, there's a safe, bar fridge, electric kettle and air con. |One annoying thing was the shower head was broken and water flow was erratic. |Also, my room faced a busy street on one side and the first night was a nightmare as there was lots of (loud) traffic till the early hours of the morning. Second night was better. Kitchen staff are helpful and very friendly. They have the usual English breakfast buffet. There was plenty of cereal, yoghurt, juice etc. to choose from. They also prepared chicken, bacon, sausage and eggs etc.|Wifi is available all around the property. You're given a log in voucher. It's not stated, but I assume it's about 250MB limit. Mine run out on the second day when I tried to watch a YouTube video. You can request a top up at the Receptionist, I am not sure how much it costs though. |Check out is strictly 10 AM - I got a call at 10:05 reminding me that time was up. |Would give it a...
Read morePositives first; Good size room, central location, décor and overall room amenities.||Unfortunately though quite a few negatives; Price re overall service and experience a bit on the high side, hot water delay in basin tap delivery, no free Wi-Fi and to make it worse despite being charged for can only use for one device at a time and also intermittent supply/quality - a real negative in my view in this instance!! The TV also offered limited channels, with the 4 local offering and only 2 DSTv satellite services - Needs substantially more, especially re sport and also offering NO news channels - BBC, CNN, Sky, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg - c'mon guys?! Also no water on offer in the room. Real negative though was the extremely poor quality of the breakfast offering - processed cheese slices only, no bacon?! What appeared to be restaurants leftover chips and chicken from previous night, and then to top it off Ricoffy offered with hot water - boarding school/army style with no coffee machine, espresso or Cappuccino, let alone filter...
Read moreI stayed in room 22. We selected the more expensive room just to find that here you pay more for a bad option. The curtains are dirty. The bed covers are filthy. The aircon is not cooling (thus not working) you are in the centre of town and have a lot of street noise as this room. ( the more expensive one ) is on the corner next to the generator. And the communal area is in the courtyard in the centre of all the rooms. So if other guests are having a good time the majority of all the other guests are kept awake. One of my engineers got mouldy bread in his breakfast pack. I will be blacklisting this venue and won't recommend it to business people. They sell them selfs to high and this is not the money worth. I want a discount as this is nothing more than a town lodge which I think is even better than this.
Stay away!!!!!!!
I hope I can sleep and that there are no bedbugs or other gross unseen things. It is now 11 pm and the loud guests are still outside having...
