9th May '25 - 10th May 2025. Hillcrest lodge - accomodation Paternoster. A Heavenly Retreat !! We just had the most incredible stay at the Hillcrest Lodge in Paternoster. This gem of a guest house exceeded our expectations in every way. The breathtaking ocean views from our unit were simply stunning - we felt like we were on top of the world! The complete privacy was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our unit was impeccably appointed with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was truly a home away from home! But what really made our stay stand out was the exceptional hospitality of the owner. She struck the perfect balance between being available when we needed her and respecting our privacy. Her discretion and kindness were truly appreciated! If 5 stars aren't enough to rate this incredible guest house, we'd gladly give it is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a peaceful, luxurious, and unforgettable getaway. We can't wait to return! Thank you for an unforgettable stay! Our Surprise breakfast voucher gave a lovley touch to end our stay in style and enjoying g a magnificent breakfast. We will sure be back. Read moreWe arrived at beautiful accommodation, friendly staff with beautiful views of the bay.||The only issue was the breakfast. On our first morning breakfast we were each given a menu, chose our breakfast which was very good. When we had finished, we were given a bill to sign, then I was told it was the wrong bill as we had booked bed and breakfast. Too much chatting I didn't take too much notice of the bill...my problem. The next day the waitress said you can't have a latte, you must pay for it. Fair enough they actually weren't on the menu. Then on check out we were told that only certain items on the menu were included, and that we had to pay for the items which were not included. The assistant informed me that only breakfast to the value of R70 was included. All very confusing but the assistant was so nice and apologetic saying the waitress should have informed us and apologized profusely. We could have argued the point but the assistant, as I say, was so nice and only following orders that it wasn't worth it. There seemed to be no management on site. May I request, if the owner reads this review, that they train their staff to better inform visitors so as to avoid...

I don’t even know where to begin with this place. We stayed here for two nights and they couldn’t even bother to refill the coffee and milk for the room. The internet is basically non existent so unless you have the patience to wait 4 hours for a movie to buffer you may as well not even have a tv in your room.
The breakfast is pathetic. There are 3 options: mini English breakfast, muesli and some awful omelette thing. If you want cappuccino you have to pay extra for it and if you want a decent breakfast you also have to pay extra for it. What is that? Never have I seen a hotel do that?
Your bedroom has zero privacy- apart from the blinding floodlight that shines into your eyeballs all night long, your room overlooks the courtyard where people eat and where it’s noisy.
There is no drinking water in the bedrooms either so you either buy it somewhere or face being drier than Ghandi’s flip flop in the middle of the night.
Worst of all is that you could have a better stay at the abalone hotel for cheaper.
Come on. At R2000 a night you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Never coming...
